"Here are the reports of where Hal and Natasha should be. Natasha is still living with her father. As for Hal, he returned to Vassel a couple of months ago. He's active as a solo adventurer for now," Felix says.
He memorizes everything that has been informed to him. I just need to ask him about what I want to know and he's going to tell me everything he knew about it. So convenient.
"And I just returned from Vassel. Since Cornelia and her friends want to see if I can train them to be stronger for the competition, I should look for Hal and Natasha afterwards. Also, please look for these people. I think they will be useful if they join my clan. Just tell me where to find them and I will try to recruit them if they're to my liking," I say as I give her some papers of people I want to invite to my clan in the future.
"These are people from the game? I'll get someone to look for them. So you're going to teach Cornelia and her friends this afternoon. Let's hope that they're good enough for you to invite to the clan. Also, here's a report about what happened after yesterday's event in this city."
Felix hands me another piece of paper for me to read. It's about me killing the Wolf King.
As expected, many people are secretly targeting me. I even had to run away yesterday because there were too many of them.
"Oh, some of them are actually criminals. I'm allowed to kill them, right?" I ask Felix.
"Only if you have evidences of their criminal acts. If not, you're the criminal for killing them."
Thankfully he has the evidence I need to kill them if I have to. Though I just told him that he should somehow show this to local authority and let them handle it. Let the city knows that there are dangerous people inside.
Dahlia city is not a territory of any country. It's its own independent city because it shouldn't be in any part of political faction and just simply nurture students without caring about affiliation. So by local authority, I mean guards of the academy. And yes, they're also the local police of the city.
"No one going to believe that you have strong enough power to kill the Wolf King. How will you convince them?" Felix asks.
"If they confront me about it in public, I can fight them and show people I'm strong. If it's secretly, I can just run away unless they're too annoying. At least their goal is just money and not to kill me for real. I hope that's the case."
They want to kill me for the money reward of killing the Wolf King. I'm sure they're waiting near the bank to see if I will deposit the money to my account. But I put the money in my Storage Ring instead. I don't have to go to the bank all the time. My Storage Ring is safer.
With the Goddess' blessing, it turned into what the other Holy Knights call as Holy Item. And even if I'm far from it or it's stolen, I can easily summon it to my side at will.
After leaving the library, I go about as usual and it's afternoon already. I told Cornelia and her friends that if they want to learn something from me today they need to come to a spot in the forest nearby. So I wait for them there.
I take my guitar out of the ring and play it while waiting for them. I sing a few songs I like in my previous life and soon after they arrive. All three of them.
"You're good at singing. And what's that instrument you play? It looks like a lute but kind of different," Anne says.
"It's a hobby. And this… I call this a guitar. I made it myself," I say while looking away from Cornelia who is staring dagger at me. She knows that this is not my invention.
I put the guitar back in my ring and pretend that everything is fine.
"So, you want me to train you until the competition? Sure. First, tell me what's your talent," I say.
"I have talent in kicking," Melly says.
"My talent is in polearm," Anne says as she taps the bottom of her spear to the ground proudly.
I already knew that. I just want to hear it from them because what I'm going to tell them is surprising.
"I only have one talent and that's slip magic. I'm talented in slip magic," I say.
And they make the reactions I expected of them. Shock.
So I tell them about talents and skills and how even if you're not talented in something you can still gain skills related to it if you put in an effort.
"So, since you have talent in combat, once you put in more effort, you can be much stronger. But effort alone is not enough. You need experience and knowledge. And although I'm teaching you, ultimately, it's you who will follow my suggestion or not. So, are you ready?"
For Cornelia, her physical training doesn't change. Just some stamina training. For magic, I told them to study magic from the books I gave her. I didn't give her everything. Just some that should be useful for the competition.
"Everyone needs to have stamina and endurance even if their talent is not related to combat. I'll show you some basic move in kicking and spear. You have talent in them so once you have the basic you can start learning more advanced move," I say.
For kicking, I can do that. But for spear, my main weapon is a sword. Still, there are some moves that I can do and will be helpful for them.
"You have talent in polearm but why did you pick a spear?" I ask.
"Hmm? No reason. It's just there. After being accepted and learn that my talent is in polearm, I just picked a spear," Anne says.
"Learn to stab using a spear. A stab is the fastest move for when you're using a spear. We will have a sparring session every time you're training with me later on. That also includes Melly. For Cornelia, she can have a session once she learned a new magic. But for now, she needs to learn magic control first instead of learning new magic."
I show Anne how to stab a spear. It's good for maintaining distance as well. A spear is a long weapon and is useful for maintaining distance with an opponent. She needs to learn how to utilize that weapon smartly.
As for Melly, I show her how to kick. Although I'm not a huge fan, I liked watching combat sport in my previous life. Boxing, kickboxing, MMA, and many others as long as they're showing it. Even professional wrestling.
So for kicking, I just imitated how some fighters kick. Low kick, mid kick, and high kick. I think that's the basic.
"Don't stick out your foot right away when kicking. Start by pushing out your knee and then kick. Then it will be harder for your opponent to predict the trajectory of your kick," I say.
"Why are you teaching Melly more seriously?" Cornelia asks.
"Because I trained kicking as well and let's say that I have passion in close combat," I wink at Cornelia to tell her that it's related to my previous life so she won't ask any further in front of other people who don't know about us.
I taught them the basic and in no time, they perfected it easily. That's talent.
But for genius, I'm sure they can do it in one try. They're a different breed compared to talented people. But they're extremely rare. Even among the Holy Knights, no one was appraised to be a genius in something. Just talented.
The sparring session was fun. Since I trained in kicking, I could fight well against Melly even if I put a handicap on myself to only kick as well. This is also to show her how to fight by kicking. And I won because her moves were still predictable. It won't be long until she surpasses me in kicking because she's talented in it.
As for the spear fighting against Anne, it's harder because it's a weapon I have never used before. But with my experience in combat and because of the training against Jaden and Sven, I can adapt to the situation and use the spear rather well. I won in the end.
"See? Even someone not talented in close combat can overpower you. Just because you have talents doesn't mean you are the best. It simply means that you can be the best. But have you put enough effort to be called the best? Well, today is your first day having a real training that even the academy won't give you. I'm sure it's hard. But you two must have felt it that you're stronger than before. Go back to your dorm and have a good rest. Come back tomorrow if you still want some training," I say to the two girls lying down on the ground exhausted.
Even though they know they feel a bit stronger, I don't know if they're still willing to come tomorrow or not. But if they do, then they're people who won't shy away from suffering as long as the result benefits them. If so, I really want them to join my clan. I like dedicated people.
