## Hazel's POV
The morning traffic crawled along the highway as I gripped my steering wheel tightly. My thoughts were a jumble of anxiety and uncertainty. I needed to call Sebastian and cancel our lunch plans. This family emergency couldn't wait.
I connected my phone to the car's Bluetooth system and dialed Sebastian's number. My heart raced as I waited through three rings before he answered.
"Good morning, beautiful," Sebastian's deep voice filled the car.
"Hey," I replied, trying to keep my tone light. "I need to cancel our lunch. Something's come up with my family."
A brief silence followed.
"Is everything okay?" Sebastian asked, concern evident in his voice.
"Not really," I sighed, changing lanes. "I'll explain later."
"You sound stressed." His voice softened. "I was actually calling to apologize about last night."
I frowned, confused. "Last night?"
