Hazel's POV
The evening air hit my face as we stepped out of the restaurant. My stomach was pleasantly full from dinner, but my nerves were on edge knowing Sebastian waited somewhere nearby.
"That was amazing," Vera said, stretching her arms above her head. "We should make this a monthly tradition."
I nodded, fishing my car keys from my purse. "Definitely. Though maybe next time we skip the interrogation about my love life."
Vera laughed, unrepentant. "Where's the fun in that?"
A sleek black Bentley pulled up to the curb. The door opened, and my heart skipped as Sebastian stepped out. He wore a dark suit that fit his broad shoulders perfectly, without a tie and his collar unbuttoned just enough to look relaxed but still commanding.
"Ladies," he greeted us with a slight nod. His eyes lingered on me for a beat too long.
Cora bounced toward him. "Perfect timing! We just finished."
I clutched my keys tighter. "I should get going. Early morning tomorrow."
