AURORA
"Yes," I whisper, the word escaping before I can stop it.
Satisfaction flashes in Kian's eyes as he takes the necklace from the box. His fingers brush against mine deliberately, sending a shiver down my spine.
"Turn around," he commands softly.
Aware of Liam's burning gaze, I slowly turn in my seat, my back to Kian. The kitchen falls silent except for the sound of my own heartbeat pounding in my ears.
Kian steps closer. I can feel the heat radiating from his body as he leans down. His fingers brush against my neck as he drapes the necklace around my throat. The metal is cool against my skin, a stark contrast to the warmth of his touch.
"Beautiful," he murmurs, close enough that his breath tickles my ear.
As he fastens the clasp, his lips graze my earlobe. No one else can see it from this angle—not Liam, not Isabella—but I feel it like an electric shock.
"I want you," he whispers, so quietly only I can hear. "Meet me tonight. Don't make me wait again."
