"She got drunk at a party little man, can you call someone to get her out of her dress, I will leave now." Adrian walked him to the door.
" Bye, uncle." Adriana waved at him, and he waved back before getting into the car.
He drove away, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that something had changed between him and Mikaela. He wondered if he had misread the situation, if there was more to their relationship than just boss and secretary. The kiss they shared still lingered in his mind, and he found himself thinking about her more and more.
Adrian called Olivia with Mikaela's phone. Olivia rushed to their house and helped Mikaela get out of the heavy dress.
"You two should go to sleep, I will put you in bed." She offered the twins.
"Don't worry Auntie Olivia, we are not little children we can go to bed our self Good night." He led the way to their room.
Olivia was amused by how mature Adrian was, she was still thinking about it when she heard the doorbell.
She rushed to see who it was to her surprise it was Jason. "Hi sorry to disturb you, is Raymond here, I got a call from the driver that he was drinking, when I got to the party he was not there anymore." He explained, but Olivia just kept stirring at him. He noticed she was lost in thoughts. "Hello are you listening." He brought her back to reality.
"Oh yes, what were you saying?" He explained again from the start.
"According to Adrian, Raymond Williams was here he dropped Mika and left with his driver." She said.
"Ok I will leave now sorry for disturbing you." He was about to leave when she stopped him.
" You can come in for a glass of water or I can make good ramen." She was trying to start a conversation with him.
" Maybe next time Miss, I will leave now." He walked to his car and she ran after him.
" Can I at least get your number?" She knew he heard her but he still drove off.
Mikaela woke up with a throbbing headache, her mind foggy and her body aching... "My head is on fire," she groaned, slowly getting out of bed.
As she stood up, she noticed she was wearing a comfortable pair of PJs, which wasn't what she had worn to the party. Confusion clouded her mind; who could have changed her clothes? Just then, Olivia walked in, a warm smile on her face.
"You are awake, drunkard," she teased, passing Mikaela a concoction.
Mikaela took the drink, wincing at the bitter taste.
"Who changed my dress?" she asked, curiosity getting the better of her.
Olivia's expression turned serious, and she replied, "Your boss, Raymond Williams, did. He was here last night, and he helped Adrian take care of you."
Mikaela's eyes widened in surprise, her mind racing with questions... What exactly happened last night? And why did Raymond take care of her?"
Olivia sat down beside Mikaela, a gentle smile on her face. "Let me fill you in on what happened last night," she said, and Mikaela nodded eagerly.
"Well, Raymond dropped you off, and Adrian called me to help you get out of your dress. Raymond was... quite concerned about you, actually. And then Jason showed up, looking for Raymond. But what's interesting is that someone else was watching from afar... someone who might have been more than just a concerned bystander."
Mikaela's curiosity was piqued. "Who?" she asked, leaning in.
Olivia glanced around the room before responding in a hushed tone, "It was Alex Chen, Raymond's business rival. He's been trying to sabotage Raymond's company for months, and I think he might have been watching you last night."
Mikaela's eyes widened in shock... What could Alex Chen want with her? Just then, the doorbell rang. "I'll get it,"
Olivia said, getting up.
To Mikaela's surprise, it was Alex Chen himself, standing at the door with a charming smile...
"Hello, Mikaela. I hope I'm not interrupting anything important. I heard you were... indisposed last night, and I wanted to check in on you."
Mikaela felt a shiver run down her spine... What was Alex Chen's real motive?, she quickly responded to him "I'm fine thanks a lot for the care and concern".
He left looking perhaps cause he thought he could have stayed longer than he did.
Olivia filled her in on what had happened, including Raymond's visit and Jason's subsequent arrival. Mikaela listened, still trying to piece together the fragments of her memories.
As she drank the concoction, Mikaela couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. She was grateful to Raymond for taking care of her, but also felt a sense of unease about what might have happened between them.
She knew she had kissed him, but what else had transpired? The uncertainty was driving her crazy.
Olivia noticed Mikaela's distress and sat down beside her. "Hey, are you okay? You look a bit shaken," she said, concern etched on her face. Mikaela nodded, trying to reassure her that she was fine.
But deep down, she knew she wasn't. She was still trying to process the events of the previous night and figure out what they meant for her relationship with her Boss.
As she looked at Olivia, a sudden realization hit her... and it was confirmed when Olivia handed her a security footage on her phone.
"I found this on the CCTV camera outside," Olivia said, her voice barely above a whisper.
The footage showed Raymond... passionately kissing her in the car, and then... something more.
Mikaela's eyes widened in shock as she realized that her memories of the night were far from complete... and what she saw on the footage made her question everything.
