We set out the next day to find my new maid.
I set out to hunt. I know I'm seldom successful, but still, I'll try. I heard whispers around me, and I froze when I heard 'prince' and 'Isaac clan' in the same sentence. What business does the prince have with my clan?
Whatever it was, I quickly went home.
We had arrived at the Isaac clan's so-called house. It was, in all honesty, a decrepit little thing. I knocked at the door, and soon, a slim woman opened the door.
'Are you Lyia Isaac?' I asked her.
She immediately realized that I was royalty. I mean, I had a whole damn carriage and escort party with me. It would be weird if she didn't realize it.
'Y-yes. Whatever may you want?' She answered with a question of her own. Her voice was quite meek. Not something you would notice unless it was deathly silent.
'We want your son.'One of my guards said. And that too, in a monotone voice. Well, that sure was straight to the point. She seemed a bit shocked.
'Niko, please explain.' I told my most empathetic soldier. He soon explained the situation. After he was done, she looked much more relieved. I could even see a glint of thankfulness cross her face.
'Mom, there's a...'I heard someone say behind me.
When I walked, well, barged in, the first thing I saw was a bunch of royal guards, soldiers, and the prince in my house. So the rumors weren't all that baseless after all.
I turned around and saw a cute wolf standing between the doorframe. Quite baffled too, might I add.
Wait-
"Cute" wolf?
How...odd. I shrugged it off.
'Niko.' I signaled to my guard, and he explained the situation.
I listened in disbelief. Why me out of all people? Perhaps the gods had answered my prayers.
'Ahem...so...uh...Liac....Iam...Liam! Yes, Liam, what do you say?'
I asked. He nodded his head. I suppose that meant he was okay with it. And so, I asked my guards to escort him, and off we went.
