The tension on Planet Vegeta was growing thicker by the day.
Perhaps it was because Frieza was set to arrive soon.
In the eyes of the Saiyans, Frieza was a detestable tyrant. Years ago, he had conquered King Vegeta, forcing the entire Saiyan race into servitude. At the time, the Saiyans had just overthrown the Tsufuruans and were in dire need of recovery and regrouping. Faced with the pressure of Frieza's empire, they had no choice but to submit.
But the Saiyans had never forgotten the oppression they endured under Frieza's iron fist. Resentment simmered beneath the surface.
Now, Frieza was summoning all Saiyans back to Planet Vegeta, without explanation. No one knew what he was planning.
Suddenly, two older-model spacepods descended from the sky. and Ausbi'er jumped out.
They had launched from Planet Yardrat, but not entirely by ship. If they had traveled only by ship, it would've taken them another six months to return. Instead, they used Instant Transmission to reach the vicinity of Planet Vegeta, then resumed their journey via ship to keep up appearances.
That way, their return would appear "legitimate"—in case anyone asked, they had a proper explanation.
They first returned to their home. Everything inside was exactly how they remembered it—familiar and untouched.
Oddly enough, not a speck of dust could be found anywhere.
Ausbi'er touched a chair and gasped. "So clean!"
"It must be Aunt Gine who came by to tidy up," replied, a warmth welling up in his heart.
He didn't think it was Bardock or Garis—those two were great to them in big-picture ways, but definitely weren't the type to clean up the house.
Night soon fell.
and Ausbi'er lay on their bed, enjoying what might be the last peaceful night on Planet Vegeta. Soon, the planet would be destroyed by Frieza.
planned to visit Bardock and Garis later that night to explain everything.
In the nursery facility on Planet Vegeta…
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Warning! Warning!
Alert: Massive energy detected!
Energy level surpassing 10,000!
Inside the nursery, two incubation pods stood side by side. One was empty—its Saiyan occupant long gone.
In the other pod lay a Saiyan infant, wailing loudly. His cries triggered a flashing red alert, casting pulses of crimson light across the dim chamber.
"What's going on?! Why is the alarm blaring?"
"Gods, please let nothing happen to the prince's heirs. If anything goes wrong, we're doomed!"
A group of white-lab-coated alien scientists rushed in. They were prisoners taken during Saiyan conquest campaigns. If not for their valuable scientific skills, they would've been long dead.
Then—
"No way! This can't be happening!"
"Look at the readings!"
Displayed on the screen was something unbelievable: a Saiyan infant named Broly, whose power level was rising by the second.
"8,000…"
"8,500…"
"9,500…"
Unbelievable. A newborn Saiyan with such high combat power?
And it was still rising!
"10,000."
Beep! Beep! Beep!
WARNING: Power exceeds threshold.
"Quick! Report to King Vegeta immediately!"
Inside King Vegeta's palace…
"What did you just say? A newborn Saiyan named Broly has a power level over 10,000?" King Vegeta's eyes widened with disbelief.
Impossible. Could he be the legendary Super Saiyan?
"No... Only my son, Prince Vegeta, is destined to be the strongest."
King Vegeta's expression turned dark, bloodlust surging in his eyes.
"Broly... don't blame me. You're simply too dangerous."
He raised a hand, signaling for his men to eliminate the child.
But then paused and asked, "Whose child is he?"
"Sire, he is the son of Paragus."
Paragus?
King Vegeta turned away from his subordinates, the crimson-blue cape on his shoulders fluttering as he faced the wall. His body armor clinked faintly.
He seemed deep in thought.
"Send a ship. Banish Broly to a remote, desolate planet."
His voice was cold and resolute, directed at the trusted soldier beside him.
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
King Vegeta sat back on his throne, resting his chin on one hand.
"Paragus... don't blame me. This is already me being merciful."
Meanwhile…
"Lord Paragus, congratulations! Your son was just born with a combat power of 10,000!"
A group of scientists—Paragus's loyal supporters—came running to deliver the news.
Paragus froze, mouth agape.
"Impossible… Is my Broly really that strong?"
"They've already gone to report to King Vegeta," said one of his men.
The moment Paragus heard that, a chill shot down his spine. He had worked under King Vegeta for years. He knew the king's nature—ruthless and cold—and how he would eliminate anyone who posed a threat to his power.
Then—
"Lord Paragus! Bad news—Broly is being exiled!"
Another Saiyan came rushing in.
"Damn you, King Vegeta! After all I've done for you over the years… how dare you!"
Paragus's eyes burned with fury. He should've known—the Saiyan race had always been cruel and heartless.
"No. I must stop him!"
Boom!
A burst of white aura exploded from Paragus's body. He rocketed into the air, heading straight for the Space Launch Center.
At the launch center:
"What a pity. King Vegeta couldn't tolerate him."
"If he could've embraced Broly, we might've had an invincible war god among the Saiyans."
"Sigh… Yeah."
The lower-ranking Saiyan soldiers were all whispering. Word of Broly's extraordinary power had already spread across the planet.
Just then, a middle-aged Saiyan streaked across the sky—Paragus.
He scanned the area and immediately located the pod where Broly was being held.
"Lord Paragus! Please don't! If you interfere, King Vegeta will punish us all!"
Several Saiyan soldiers tried to block his path.
Paragus ignored them. He lunged forward, but the pod carrying Broly was already lifting off—vanishing into the sky in a flash of light.
"No!!!"
Paragus roared in anguish—he was too late.
"Tell me… which planet is Broly being sent to?!"
He grabbed one of the soldiers, fury blazing in his eyes. His whole body trembled with disbelief.
"He… he's being exiled to Vampa, on the edge of the universe!" the soldier stammered, visibly shaken and terrified Paragus might lash out at him.
"Prepare a ship! NOW!!" Paragus bellowed, face twisted in rage.
Moments later—
Whoosh!
Another spacecraft blasted off from the launch center.
"I have to save Broly!"
Paragus's ship trailed closely behind the one carrying his son. He knew Planet Vampa was uninhabitable. Broly wouldn't survive alone.
Just wait, King Vegeta... when I return with Broly… you will regret this.
