Kaso and Ausbi'er were just about to head out when they suddenly heard chatter from the street.
"Did you hear about Broly?"
"You mean that kid born with a power level of 10,000?"
"Yeah, that's the one. What a shame."
The Saiyans speaking sounded somewhat regretful. They went on, saying that if King Vegeta had accepted Broly, then in less than ten years, the Saiyan race might have produced an invincible warrior god.
"Broly…" Kaso murmured to himself.
His eyes widened. He had almost forgotten about Broly.
Broly was born with the legendary Saiyan physique. His incubation pod had been placed right next to Kakarot's. Whenever Kakarot cried, Broly would cry too. Because of that, Broly developed a deep aversion to Kakarot, and every time he saw him, he'd erupt into uncontrollable rage.
But Broly was also a tragic figure. He was exiled by King Vegeta as a baby, and when he grew up, he was completely controlled by his father, Paragus, living without the slightest freedom.
Kaso quickly grabbed one of the Saiyans by the arm and asked urgently, "Uncle, what happened to Broly?"
Ausbi'er stood quietly to the side, puzzled. Why did her Kaso-ge get so worked up over that name?
The Saiyan was momentarily stunned. He had never seen such a polite little guy before, and replied, "That kid's already been exiled."
"Why? Do you know him?" the Saiyan asked curiously.
"Nope! Thanks, Uncle. We're off now!"
Kaso quickly pulled Ausbi'er away from the scene.
As the two kids left, the Saiyans behind them resumed their conversation.
"Hey, Chris, do you know that little guy?"
"Nah, just never seen such a polite brat before."
"Yeah… it was kinda strange."
——
Kaso and Ausbi'er were on their way to Bardock's house.
"Kaso-ge, who's Broly?" Ausbi'er asked, looking up.
"Uh… you'll find out one day."
Kaso shook his head. When he first heard the news about Broly's exile, he'd considered going to stop it. But since it had already happened, he figured it was fine to let Broly stay on Planet Vampa for a while.
He had more urgent things to take care of now.
Just thinking about Paragus made Kaso feel disgusted. That old man had used his own son as a tool for revenge, never once treating Broly like a real person.
Before long, they reached Bardock's house.
Just as Kaso was about to knock, he heard voices from inside.
"Garis, that's my explanation."
"Sigh… what can I even say about that kid?"
"Maybe this is just what it means to be a Saiyan."
It was Bardock and Garis talking.
Kaso chuckled. So Garis was there too.
He knocked on the door. It opened, and Gine appeared, but her expression was a bit off, like something was weighing heavily on her heart.
Kaso thought about it for a moment. Since Broly had been exiled, maybe Kakarot had already been sent away too?
That would explain Gine's sorrowful face.
"Kaso, Ausbi'er, you're back!" Gine's face softened upon seeing them.
"Yeah," Kaso nodded with a smile.
"Gine-auntie!"
Ausbi'er happily hugged her.
Back when Gine used to care for them, she had become like a mother figure to Ausbi'er. Now, leaning into her arms, Ausbi'er could feel that familiar warmth again.
"Ausbi'er…"
Gine hugged her back tightly. After sending Kakarot away, her heart had been aching. Now, seeing the kids return had helped soothe that pain just a little.
Garis had just been talking about Kaso. Seeing the kid back safely, he couldn't help but get emotional.
"Kaso! Ausbi'er! You're home!"
Years ago, Kaso's parents had saved Garis's life. Ever since, he had seen Kaso as his own child. Now, seeing the boy return safely filled him with genuine joy.
Bardock also came over and gently ruffled Kaso's hair. Two years had passed, and the little guy finally didn't look so thin anymore.
Kaso remembered all the kindness they'd shown him. Without them, he probably wouldn't have survived more than a few days.
After returning to Planet Vegeta, Kaso heard that Frieza was due to arrive in about ten days. Time was short—he couldn't afford to just reminisce.
"Uncle Bardock, have you been having any bad feelings lately?"
Bardock frowned. "How do you know that?"
"I had a dream… in it, Frieza came and destroyed Planet Vegeta. All the Saiyans were wiped out."
"What?!"
Gine forgot her sorrow for a moment.
Garis held his breath, stunned.
Kaso's words struck a chord deep in Bardock's heart. He had dreamed the same thing. At first, he thought it was just a bad dream, but now that Kaso had confirmed it, he realized it might actually be true.
Frieza had to be plotting something.
"I had the exact same dream," Bardock said.
He shared what he had seen in his dream, including why he had sent Kakarot away. But he left out the part about Kakarot becoming a Super Saiyan in the future.
Gine's eyes widened in disbelief. Both Bardock and Kaso had dreamed the same thing? She had only agreed to send Kakarot away because Bardock had insisted. Now she felt relieved—they had made the right choice.
"Kaso, is this really true?" Garis asked in a low voice, as if afraid to hear the answer.
"Yeah."
The air inside the house suddenly grew tense. The silence was so thick you could hear Gine breathing. A heavy pressure filled the room.
"Captain… what now? There's no way we Saiyans can defeat Frieza!" Garis said, his expression full of worry.
"Calm down. Let's hear what Kaso has to say. He wouldn't have come back now unless he had a plan."
From the moment Kaso mentioned the dream, Bardock had stopped treating him like a child.
"Kaso, tell us your plan."
"These past two years, I finished the mission on Planet Mumu early, and then…"
Kaso began explaining everything that had happened.
From traveling to Planet Yardrat to learn Instant Transmission, to going to Namek and summoning the Dragon—everything. Bardock and the others were left dumbfounded.
They had no idea that the two kids had gone through so much in just two years.
When Kaso mentioned Instant Transmission, Bardock and Garis were stunned. They had never heard of such a technique.
Kaso continued, "Frieza's forces are definitely watching Planet Vegeta closely now. If we try to escape using spaceships, it won't work."
Bardock nodded thoughtfully. "So… you're planning to use Instant Transmission to evacuate everyone off the planet?"
