[25]. Settling the Saiyans

Planet Fe'er.

"Captain, what are we going to do now?" Garis looked at a loss.

For the surviving Saiyans, it didn't really matter that King Vegeta was dead—but with Planet Vegeta destroyed by Frieza, they didn't even have a place to call home anymore.

Were the Saiyans destined to wander the universe from now on?

Hearing that, Bardock paused for a moment. "Let's wait until Kaso returns, then hear what he has to say."

Back when he dreamed of Planet Vegeta's destruction, Bardock had only gone as far as sending off Kakarot. He hadn't really thought about what came after.

But now, judging by the current situation, things weren't looking good for the Saiyans.

Bardock clearly remembered the Saiyan legend—the Super Saiyan—which had always been feared by the Frost Demon Clan. From what Kaso had said earlier, Planet Vegeta's destruction had been ordered by King Cold. And on top of that, there was someone even stronger than Frieza—Cooler!

So now, the Saiyans not only had to avoid Frieza's forces, but also stay hidden from the entire Frost Demon Clan.

Garis nodded. The fact that over a hundred Saiyans had managed to escape was already thanks to Kaso. Listening to what he had to say was the right move.

From the moment Frieza's plot was uncovered to the night-after-night teleportation missions, Kaso had worked himself to the bone for over ten days straight. The surviving Saiyans had seen it all.

Unconsciously, Kaso had already become an important figure in their hearts. Whenever problems arose, their first instinct was to look to him.

Just then—shwoosh!

A child appeared out of thin air in the plains.

"Kaso!"

"It's Kaso! He's back!"

The Saiyans sitting on the grass immediately stood up, smiles lighting up their faces.

Bardock hurried forward. "Kaso, what happened to Planet Vegeta?"

Garis and kast also stepped forward anxiously. "Well? What's the situation?"

All eyes were on Kaso, brimming with hope. They were desperately hoping he'd say Planet Vegeta was still intact.

Kaso walked forward slowly and stood before them. After making eye contact with everyone, he sighed and shook his head.

"It's already exploded."

Thump!

It felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over everyone's hearts. The last of their hope was extinguished.

It had really happened. Damn that Frieza!

Kaso looked around and saw how low everyone's spirits were.

"How interesting…" he thought.

Saiyans could feel this way too?

Back when he'd watched the anime, he remembered how Vegeta had barely reacted to his planet's destruction—cold and emotionless to the end.

Now it made sense—most Saiyans were probably like that.

No wonder this group followed Bardock. No wonder King Vegeta had always tried to suppress Bardock.

After a while, Bardock shook off his emotions. "Kaso, now that Planet Vegeta is gone, what's our plan moving forward?"

"I've already made arrangements," Kaso said. "We'll rest here on Planet Fe'er for a few more days, and then I'll lead everyone to our true homeland—Planet Sadala."

He laid out his plan.

He had prepared for this long ago, even using the Dragon Balls to restore the Saiyans' true home—Planet Sadala.

Planet Sadala was the best place for the Saiyans to settle. And Kaso had a feeling that Sadala held some hidden mystery.

Back in his previous life, while watching Dragon Ball Super, he'd theorized that the reason Universe 6's Saiyans were so strong in their base forms might have something to do with Planet Sadala.

Of course, it was just a theory. He'd only know the truth once he got there.

The nearby Saiyans were stunned by the mention of Planet Sadala.

"Our original homeland?"

"Planet Sadala?"

"Wasn't that planet destroyed?"

It was true. Long ago, Planet Sadala had been destroyed by internal conflict. The Saiyans had later relocated to Planet Plant, overthrew the Tsufruians, and renamed it Planet Vegeta.

Hearing Kaso's words, Bardock suddenly remembered the three wishes Kaso had made using the Dragon Balls.

He'd thought it was a lie at the time, but now… had Planet Sadala really been restored?

And all Saiyans could now survive in outer space?

Thinking of that, Bardock suddenly erupted with white energy—whoosh!—and shot straight up into space.

"What's Bardock doing?"

"Captain, where are you going?"

The Saiyans were confused. Why did Bardock suddenly fly off?

Kaso just smiled. Looks like Bardock had never truly believed in the Dragon Balls.

But now that he was flying upward, Kaso could guess what Bardock was thinking—he must be going to test the truth behind those three wishes.

As Bardock neared the vacuum of space, he held his breath.

Once he broke through the atmosphere, he took a deep breath to test whether he could breathe. If he couldn't, he'd immediately turn back.

Floating in the pitch-black void, Bardock was nervous. He hoped the wishes were real—but part of him still couldn't quite believe it.

He inhaled.

He didn't feel air entering his lungs.

But then his eyes widened. While there was no breathable air in space, he was still alive—able to survive out here.

It was incredible!

Having confirmed it for himself, Bardock returned to the ground and burst into laughter.

"Hahahahaha!"

The Saiyans looked at him, puzzled. What's going on?

Seeing their confusion, Bardock stopped laughing and explained the situation to everyone.

"So that's what it is!"

"This means we Saiyans can become even stronger!"

The Saiyans clenched their fists, eyes burning with excitement.

As expected of the warrior race—just one good piece of news about their combat potential and they'd already forgotten the grief they felt over their planet's destruction.

Kaso chuckled helplessly but didn't say anything else.

"Uncle Bardock, where's Little Bier?" Kaso asked. He had been back for a while now but hadn't seen Ausbi'er.

"She's over there." Bardock pointed.

Pushing through the crowd, Kaso finally spotted Gine sitting beneath a tree at the border between forest and plain, holding Ausbi'er in her arms.

No wonder he hadn't seen her—those burly men had been blocking the view.

When Gine saw Kaso, she raised a finger to her lips, signaling him to stay quiet.

Kaso looked over—Little Bier, chubby and pale, was sound asleep in Gine's arms.

He gently brushed his finger across her soft, round cheek.

After ten days of constant teleporting, even Kaso was exhausted. How much more so for Ausbi'er?

Seeing her worn-out little face, Kaso felt a pang in his heart and reached out his hands, asking to carry her.

"Heehee!" Gine carefully handed Ausbi'er over to Kaso and chuckled softly.

These two little ones had grown up under her care—and now, seeing them stick so closely together like this, they looked just like a young couple. It was almost certain they'd grow into one.

The thought made her reminisce about her own youth—how she and Bardock had once been just like them.

So familiar.

Gine smiled warmly.

Kaso, oblivious to Gine's thoughts, cradled Ausbi'er tightly, staring at her snow-white, chubby little face.

Unable to resist, he leaned in and kissed her cheek.

"Mm?" Ausbi'er seemed to stir at his touch. Her brows gently twitched, and she slowly opened her eyes.

"Kaso-gege~~"

Seeing him, she smiled sweetly. "You're back!"

Looking at her smile, warmth bloomed in Kaso's chest. He leaned his forehead against hers.

"I'm back."
