Kaso teleported to a nearby planet not far from Planet Vegeta. Then, a white aura burst out from his body as he soared straight into outer space.
In the pitch-black void, dotted with stars, Kaso emerged from the atmosphere of that planet. Looking into the distance, he saw Planet Vegeta beginning to emit a blinding glow, growing more and more intense.
A massive energy sphere had appeared above Planet Vegeta's atmosphere, illuminating the entire surface like a newborn sun.
Kaso floated silently, watching the Death Ball sink slowly into the planet's surface, quietly awaiting the moment of Planet Vegeta's destruction.
Two years had passed since he entered the world of Dragon Ball. Now, witnessing the fall of Planet Vegeta with his own eyes, Kaso felt no anger, no sorrow. For the sake of his past-life sentiments, he had already done more than enough.
He had gone to Namek to make his wishes, used Instant Transmission to save a portion of the Saiyans—he had done everything he could.
Perhaps it was the Saiyan bloodline within him, or perhaps it was the knowledge of the story's future events, but even as Planet Vegeta approached its destruction, Kaso's heart remained calm.
After all, he had preserved nearly two hundred Saiyan bloodlines.
Inside Planet Vegeta.
The Death Ball was pressing down with terrifying pressure. Great Ape-form Saiyans planted their massive hands into the ground, trying to lift their heads. Even without conscious thought, their instincts screamed in fear. Their massive bodies trembled uncontrollably.
The energy sphere had passed straight through the five Great Apes, including King Vegeta. Their counterattacks were useless—their gigantic bodies couldn't even slow it down for a second.
Boom—Boom—
Through the atmosphere, the Death Ball crashed downward. The sheer magnitude of the energy made space itself ripple with muffled roars like war drums.
As it descended, the atmosphere compressed rapidly. Mountain ranges began to collapse. Boulders—each over ten meters wide—plummeted from the sky.
Massive rocks smashed into the ground, causing mountains to quake and the land to fracture. Cracks spread outward in jagged lines until they hit harder ground and stopped.
"Roar!"
"ROAR!"
Seeing the Death Ball nearing, the Great Apes roared in terror.
They didn't dare remain where they stood. Instinct screamed that if they didn't run, they would die.
The transformed Saiyans scattered in all directions—some fled to forests, others to the mountains. Wherever they could go, they went, trying to escape this impending doom.
But they didn't know: no matter where they ran, they could not escape.
Boom—BOOM—
The Death Ball finally landed.
From above, the massive sphere slowly buried itself deep into the earth. After a moment, it disappeared, leaving behind a massive crater.
Crack. Crack.
Fissures began to appear around the crater—not the kind formed by falling boulders, but gradually expanding cracks. They started about ten centimeters wide, then widened to fifty, and kept growing.
Whoosh—whoosh—
The storms that had calmed after the battle suddenly picked up again. Wind stirred the seas, and waves leapt into the air.
What's that?
A tornado had formed over the ocean.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—
A tornado over a thousand meters tall raged across the sea. Huge fish were swept into the sky.
Because of the tornado, a massive tsunami formed—waves dozens of meters high surged forward. Coastlines collapsed under their impact.
Five minutes passed.
BOOM!
Planet Vegeta convulsed. Massive tectonic plates rose and floated chaotically over the ground. Molten lava spewed from beneath the earth, releasing dense smoke, creating a fiery rain before crashing back to the ground.
Ten minutes passed.
The Death Ball had reached the planet's core. By now, no place on Planet Vegeta was left untouched.
Floods surged. Tsunamis ravaged. Lava exploded from the ground. Every catastrophic force imaginable devoured the surface of Planet Vegeta.
Volcanic eruptions sent magma soaring thousands of meters into the air. The planet's atmosphere filled with thick smoke and ash. From space, the entire planet was obscured.
And then—
BOOM!
Planet Vegeta turned into a brilliant explosion, bursting into radiant beams of light that shot off in all directions across the galaxy.
Outside the planet—
"Hahahaha!"
"This is what happens when you defy me!" Frieza laughed maniacally, emanating a dark and evil aura.
"Dodoria, isn't that the most beautiful firework you've ever seen?"
Frieza had returned to his elegant persona, arms folded. It was as if he had completely forgotten how Dodoria had witnessed his loss of composure earlier.
"As expected of Lord Frieza! The firework you launched is the most magnificent in the universe!" Dodoria replied quickly, his insides trembling.
When Frieza had pointed his finger at him earlier, Dodoria had felt like he'd already taken a step into hell.
Even though he had seen their own forces get wiped out with Planet Vegeta, he didn't dare say a word.
Now was the time to flatter, and flatter hard!
"Sigh, the Saiyans were quite useful," Frieza mused with slight regret. "Now I'll have to go find a new batch of free labor."
"As long as your name spreads, Lord Frieza, I'm sure many will rush to serve you," Dodoria said, bootlicking nonstop.
"Let's go. Time to return."
Frieza nodded, satisfied.
As Frieza turned, Dodoria patted his chest, breathing a silent sigh of relief—he had survived.
Soon after, Frieza and Dodoria returned to the main ship. The surrounding vessels followed closely behind.
From afar, Captain Ginyu contacted them via communicator. "Let's head back as well!"
Then, five ships rapidly followed after the main fleet.
Streaks of light flashed across space—hundreds of Frieza's ships sped back toward headquarters.
Leading them was the massive mothership.
Inside, Frieza sat calmly in his floating pod, eyes closed in meditation. He murmured, "Lord Beerus, I've completed the task you entrusted to me."
…
Back in space, watching the explosion from afar—
Kaso floated quietly.
The Saiyan race had survived internal strife on Planet Sadala, had resisted the Tsufruians—but in the end, nearly perished at the hands of Frieza.
But people had to look forward. What was done was done. Even if the Saiyans sought revenge, they would have to wait for the main Dragon Ball story to begin.
In just over ten years, the Dragon Ball plot would officially kick off.
Thinking of this, Kaso felt a wave of excitement.
It was finally going to begin.
He had to prepare. He wasn't going to end up like Piccolo and the others—just another background character.
As the last light from Planet Vegeta faded, Kaso's figure vanished from space.
