As they came out, DK and Minghao went to the backyard, took their cars, and drove them around to the front. Nian messaged her parents, letting them know they were on the way. Xuanye saw the boys pull up and stopped in front of them.
Xuanye laughed and elbowed Nian. "Look, they brought their private cars."
Nian lifted her head and smiled as she saw them.
Minghao stepped out. "Xuanye, let's go to your house. I've already kept your luggage in the car."
DK grabbed Nian's hand. "Shall we go now?"
Nian and Xuanye looked at each other and burst out laughing.
"Boys, we're going together," Nian said. "Let's just use one car. DK can drive."
Xuanye added, "Hao, let's go in DK's car. Come with me," and she grabbed his hand before climbing in.
Minghao looked at DK, completely confused.
DK leaned toward Nian and asked, "Hey... am I going to meet her parents or yours? I'm lost."
Nian looked at him and sighed. "Loudie, do you have short-term memory loss? I told you—we live in the same house."
DK blinked. "Oh. Right."
"Then stop being confused and get in."
Still unsure, DK nodded awkwardly and got in.
As he started to drive, DK kept glancing at Minghao, who was giving him the same confused look.
Xuanye narrowed her eyes at them. "Why are you guys talking with your eyes like that?"
Nian laughed and added, "Seriously."
DK cleared his throat. "Okay, but I have a doubt."
"Same here," Minghao agreed.
"What's the doubt?" the girls asked in unison.
DK signaled for Minghao to speak.
Minghao tilted his head, looking completely lost. "We're going to meet your parents, right?"
The girls nodded, smiling.
"Then I'm meeting Ye's parents, and DK is meeting Nian's... right?"
"Correct," Nian confirmed.
"Then... why are we traveling in the same car?" DK asked, genuinely puzzled.
Xuanye tried not to laugh. "Guys... we live in the same house! What do you want us to do—bring two separate cars and catch the attention of every neighbor? Huh?"
Minghao blinked like a puppy while DK just shook his head in defeat. The girls were giggling nonstop.
As they reached the house, they got out. The girls paused and took a deep breath.
"It's been a while," Xuanye said. "Our house looks so different."
"Yeah," Nian smiled. "Even the garden's changed. Mom planted new flowers."
Xuanye elbowed her, trying to contain her excitement.
Meanwhile, DK and Minghao, carrying the girls' luggage, exchanged glances.
"Are they the ones meeting the parents or us?" Minghao asked.
DK giggled. "Even I'm excited now."
They joined the girls, who turned to them with reassuring smiles.
"Don't be nervous. Just be yourself," Nian said warmly.
The boys raised their brows. But Dino said to be obedient...
Still, they nodded.
Nian knocked on the door. Her mother opened it, beaming. The girls jumped and hugged her.
"Ma~ we missed you!"
Her mother chuckled. "If you missed me so much, why didn't you visit earlier?"
Xuanye gulped. "We told you, Ma. We had interviews and work," she said with a sheepish grin.
Meanwhile, DK leaned toward Minghao and whispered, "Is she Xuanye's mother or Nian's?"
Minghao panicked. "I don't know, DK! Don't ask me!"
The girls' mother gave them a playful slap and welcomed them inside. The girls turned to signal the boys to come in.
"Who are they?" their mother asked curiously.
"Ma, let them come in first. Otherwise, the neighbors will gather," Xuanye joked.
The mother smiled warmly, took the luggage, and led the way.
"Where's Dad?" Xuanye asked. "He didn't even come to see us!"
"He's being lazy," her mom muttered. "Go look—he didn't even help me cook."
The girls found their dad dancing in front of the TV.
"Appa! You didn't even know we arrived?" Nian teased.
He turned, eyes lighting up. "When did you two come?!"
"We came while you were happily dancing," she replied.
He laughed and hugged them tightly.
Meanwhile, DK and Minghao were standing like furniture, totally out of place and trying to process everything.
Their mother came over and asked, "Who are you two?"
The boys panicked and looked at their girlfriends for help.
DK introduced himself nervously, followed by Minghao.
"Oh~ handsome boys! DK and Minghao, right?" she said, patting their shoulders.
The girls giggled, clearly proud.
Their father tilted his head. "I've heard those names somewhere... but where?"
Minghao took a deep breath. "Auntie, can I ask you something?"
"Sure," she said.
"Which one is your daughter?"
The question made both parents burst out laughing.
DK looked alarmed. "Did I say something wrong?"
"No, no," their mom said, wiping her tears. "You're just asking a very silly question."
Their dad wrapped his arms around both girls. "These two little rascals are both our daughters."
Nian and Xuanye gasped. "Appa! How can you call us rascals?"
Their mom grinned. "What else should we call you? Obedient angels?"
The girls pouted while DK and Minghao stood frozen, eyes wide.
They turned slowly to their girlfriends like: Wait… they're sisters?!
And not just friends?!
