Blind Date

"Hello, is Mr. Vronsky home?" Someone knocked on the door.

Valentin rushed out of the kitchen and detached his kitchen robe. Who was here this early in the morning?

As he opened the door, a police officer appeared in his field of view.

"Good morning, Mr. Vronsky. I apologize for bothering you. Our chief of police wants to talk to you. Do you have time to come to the police station today?" the officer asked.

'It must be for what happened yesterday,' Valentin thought. Maybe the chief of police suspected that he was the one behind Mr. Park's kidnapping.

"Of course, tell the chief I'll be there before noon," Valentin replied.

After sending off the police officer, Seojin scurried to the entrance and asked worriedly, "You won't be punished, right?"

The judge ruffled the kid's hair and told him everything would be fine. The chief of police had no reason to catch him.

"Mr. Vronsky, please take a seat," the police chief said politely as the man entered his office.

Valentin took a seat on the sofa and crossed his legs. Seeing that the judge didn't talk, the chief explained, "We found Mr. Park at an old factory yesterday when we traced the phone call. When we asked him how he got there, he said he was kidnapped by two women."

"What does this have to do with me? Am I allowed to hear this?" Valentin asked.

Seeing Valentin's offended expression, the chief quickly added, "We have no right to accuse you of this matter. If anything, the police are glad that Mr. Han has been brought back to jail. We shouldn't let someone like him roam free."

"Why did you let him go then?"

"We were pressured by Mr. Park. As you see, he has some connections with the higher-ups. We desperately need someone like you behind our backs to keep order in society," the chief explained.

"I don't mind helping the police, but how can I trust you?"

"I promise something like yesterday won't happen again. I'll try to keep the higher-ups at bay. You don't have to trust me yet, time will tell everything."

Valentin pondered for a while and agreed to help the chief of police. He knew that the police were in a difficult situation because of the rich people. If they had someone powerful backing them, they wouldn't have to listen to the other high-status people.

"May I visit Mr. Han while I am here?" Valentin asked.

The chief of police agreed to his request and offered to drive him there. The worker of the prison let Valentin have a private time with Seojin's uncle. There was only a thin glass separating the two of them, but Valentin could feel the man's rage.

"You f*cking traitor," Mr. Han cursed, punching the glass separator.

Valentin snickered and said, "You look good."

Seojin's uncle was freshly bruised from head to toe. He even had a bald spot on his head. Valentin praised himself for bribing the other cellmates to beat Mr. Han up. Seojin would be happy to see this kind of scene.

"Didn't we agree to make the kid lose the court trial? Why did you betray me?" the man asked angrily.

"Oh, that. I just wanted your trust so that it would be easier to send you to jail. I can't believe you fell for it," Valentin mocked.

Seojin's uncle cursed him even more, calling him a traitor. Valentin blocked his ears and looked at the man emotionlessly.

"You are too loud. Seems like you haven't learned your lesson yet," Valentin warned.

Mr. Han pointed a finger at him, shocked.

"You are the one who told them to beat me up," he stuttered.

The chair in front of him creaked. Valentin walked away, annoyed as the man in the cell begged him to let him go. He didn't want to suffer a beating again.

Valentin smiled coldly. 'This was only the beginning. You have to make up for what you did to Seojin,' Valentin thought.

Valentin sent a text message to Seojin to not let him worry. Coming out of prison, his phone beeped, signalling a text message. It was Valentin's mom. She texted him, reminding him not to forget about the blind date she set up for him. He completely forgot about his matter. Trying to remember the original host's memories, he realized he had a blind date with Yuna, the daughter of his mom's colleague.

Since the blind date was set up for the original host, he didn't want to go, but he couldn't be rude. Even in his past life, he never had a relationship in his 29 years of life. He only slept with someone to take care of his needs.

Valentin entered the luxurious and elegant one-star Michelin restaurant. They agreed to meet at noon, but Valentin arrived earlier to give a good first impression. After waiting for a few minutes, a tall, brown-haired beauty walked to his table. Valentin stood up and pulled out the chair for his blind date.

The woman smiled and presented herself as the daughter of a doctor in Haneul Hospital. She was studying to become a doctor like her father at a prestigious university. Coming from an honest family, Yuna was kind and smart. Her family wasn't rich, but they were richer than normal people.

"How did you become a judge at such a young age?" Yuna asked curiously. Normally, judges were all a bit older than Valentin.

"I skipped some grades," Valentin responded. He also didn't know why the author of the novel let Valentin become a judge so early. Maybe the original host was a genius.

After they finished their meal, Yuna exclaimed that it was one of the best meals she had ever had. Feeling guilty about the blind date, he suggested they go to the mall to digest a bit. The woman was nice and beautiful, but Valentin wasn't interested in dating. He had something more important to do. And that is helping the male lead. Maybe if he completed all the system's missions, he could go back to his original world. It would be nice if he could be friends with Yuna.

They shopped happily in a few stores until Yuna met a familiar face in a luxurious bag store.

"Yuna, what a surprise!" a woman exclaimed. She used to be Yuna's friend, but they got into a big fight because her crush liked Yuna.

"Hi, Lily. How are you doing?" Yuna asked politely.

Lily grabbed a man by the arm and introduced him as her boyfriend. By his expensive suit and watch, Yuna could tell that her ex-friend had a rich boyfriend.

"Are you here to buy a bag? I heard the new H*rmes bag came out. So I came with my boyfriend to buy it," Lily said.

She glanced at the man accompanying Yuna and mocked, "Your boyfriend might be handsome, but I'm sure he isn't as rich as my boyfriend."

"I know your family isn't rich enough to buy from a store like this. That's why you have to get a rich boyfriend. With your face and body, I'm sure some rich guy will be willing to," Lily added as she snickered.

Her boyfriend tugged her hand, signalling her to stop talking. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead as he laughed nervously.

'You don't even know who you are talking to,' Lily's boyfriend cried in his head.

The man reached out a hand politely and said, "I apologize for my girlfriend's rudeness, Mr. Vronsky." He had to stop his girlfriend before Valentin got angry. He couldn't afford to lose his business.

Lily clasped a hand to her mouth. If she continued talking, she would've ruined her own life. Who knew that Yuna could pull such a man?

"I'm sorry for my rudeness, and I apologize for what I said to Miss. Yuna." Lily bowed.

Seeing that they were smart people, Valentin let the matter go.

"I'll forgive you this time. About the new H*rmes bag, can you let me have it?" Valentin asked.

"Of course! Please, do," Lily replied.

Hearing that someone wanted to buy their newest bag, the employee rushed to the client and presented it.

"How much does it cost?" Valentin asked.

"Five hundred thousand dollars."

Valentin took out his black card as the employee smiled until her mouth was hurting. She was so lucky today, having such a big sale. She carefully packaged the bag and gave a VIP card to Valentin, saying that he would have priority the next time he came to the store.

Lily stared at Yuna in envy. How come all the good men were attracted to her? But seeing their interaction closely, Lily noticed that they were intimate with each other. Which means that they weren't official yet. She snickered, maybe she'll get a chance in the future to get close to Valentin.
