After buying the H*rmes bag, they went to a few clothing stores. Because he felt guilty, he convinced Yuna to buy some clothes, saying that it was a gift from him. As the sky grew dark, Valentin ended the day and drove Yuna home. He also apologized for the blind date, saying that he had no intention of dating. In the end, Yuna nodded sadly and agreed to be friends.
When Valentin arrived home, it was already 11 p.m. Seeing that the kid was still waiting for him in the living room, he apologized for not telling him that he would be home late. He also forgot to cook dinner, so Seojin had to cook for himself.
"Where did you go?" Seojin asked pitifully. He thought all afternoon that the police had caught the judge or that the judge didn't want him anymore and had left.
"I went on a blind date that my mom set up for me," Valentin explained. He thought that Seojin's pitiful expression was cute.
Seojin felt a bit sad, but he knew Valentin also had his private life. He had no right to interfere.
"If one day you get a girlfriend and start a family, what is going to happen to me?" Seojin asked nervously. The only people he was close to were Ji-a and the judge. What was he going to do if the judge found him to be a burden? He couldn't bear to lose another person with whom he was close.
Valentin laughed and ruffled the boy's dark hair, "Don't worry, it's not going to happen anytime soon. Even if I do get a family in the future, I'll still be your Hyung."
Even in his past life, he never had a lover besides him. Besides, his main mission was to help Seojin, the male lead of this world.
One morning, Valentin held a fruit basket and drove to Haneul Hospital. He carefully knocked on the patient's door. He was visiting Cassian's daughter today.
"Young master, please come in," Cassian welcomed as he opened the door.
Cassian's daughter was awake, and she smiled at Valentin happily. So that was the man her father was talking about. The man had an aura that was hard to approach, but compared to her dad, it was nothing. Thanks to him, she felt better. She even had three meals a day, and her daddy became cooler in his black suit.
"Hello, Mr. Judge! My name is Mia," the girl introduced herself. Her hair was all shaved off, but she still had a beautiful smile. As if her illness wasn't a big deal for her.
Valentin carefully grabbed the little girl's hands and asked, "Hello, Mia. It's nice to meet you. How do you like it here?"
The little girl smiled happily and explained that she had met a lot of friends there. The medical staff were also nice to her. It was rare for her to see this many people grouped in one place. She can only remember the times when they were alone, living in the woods.
Valentin said goodbye to the bodyguard and his daughter after Cassian thanked him again.
In the afternoon, he had a meeting with the leader of the Rose Assassin Organization. They called him in the morning, asking for his time. Maybe he should've resolved the Mr. Park situation himself. He didn't want to get too close to assassin organizations. He already had a lot on his plate.
He walked into a normal-looking building. It was a smart idea to camouflage the organization in the middle of the busy city. No one would suspect that the people in the building did dirty work.
The receptionist at the front desk led him to the leader's office. A young girl with white hair sat behind the desk. Valentin was amazed by the author for creating such young assassins.
"Hello, Mr. Vronsky. Please take a seat," the young woman said.
Valentin could already feel the chilly aura in the air. If he had to compare Nikolai and Winter, Nikolai had a brighter personality while Winter had a colder one. It was as if she lacked emotions.
"Why did you call me here?" Valentin asked straightly.
"I need your help to get rid of a village," Winter started.
"I don't want to help murder people," Valentin said seriously. He didn't want to get involved in assassinations.
"Let me explain first."
Winter explained that she came from a remote village where they kidnapped young children to raise them into assassins. They even had a mad scientist who experimented on the kids. He used dangerous drugs, hoping that they would give superpowers to the children. Many kids died because of the experiments. Winter was one of the few who managed to survive the drug and escape from the village.
Valentin remembered that in the novel, Nikolai also came from that village.
To get the judge's trust, Winter added that her superpower is telekinesis. The object in the room floated in the air under her powers. Seeing that Valentin wasn't shocked, Winter guessed that he knew a bit about the village.
"Why do you need my help when you are this strong?" Valentin asked. An assassin organization was more than enough to get rid of the village.
Winter shook her head helplessly and explained, "I suffer side effects if I use my powers too much. Besides, we can't underestimate the village's power. Our people reported that the village has now developed a way to control the new assassins. We were lucky to escape before that."
"A lot of kids are being tortured. We are almost prepared to strike the village. We just needed a high-status person to help us. The village was founded by someone of status. That's why it hasn't been taken down all these years," she added.
From what he remembered in the novel, the kids in the village even have to kill amongst themselves. It was a method used by the village to raise strong and merciless assassins. The goal was to use the assassin kids for their benefit.
Valentin agreed to help Winter; after all, he might need the Rose Organization in the future to take care of some dirty work.
"We will call you again soon. The operation will start in one month," Winter reminded.
Tired of the big day, Valentin went to sleep early. Late at night, he was woken up by a muffled sound coming from downstairs. As he pushed his ear further into his pillow, he heard the sound even more clearly. It sounded like someone had a piece of clothing blocking their mouth.
