Chapter 40: Frieza vs Gamma

Levos's eyes were locked on the two approaching Gamma androids as they closed in with lightning speed.

If his memory served right, according to the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, these androids were strong enough to overwhelm Super Saiyan 2 Gohan. While slightly weaker than "Beast Gohan," they were still formidable enough to hold their own.

That meant their combat strength was likely on par with Super Saiyan 3.

Fortunately, they weren't villains. On the contrary, both possessed a strong sense of justice.

In the blink of an eye, the two androids hovered above the spaceship.

Gamma 2 whipped his cape dramatically and shouted with confidence, "Hand over the Dragon Balls and we'll let you leave unharmed!"

Boom!

A loud mechanical hiss echoed as the ship's rooftop hatch opened, and Frieza's levitating throne rose steadily into the sky.

Frieza leaned back lazily in his chair, an amused smirk playing on his lips. "And who might you be?"

"You don't need to know that," Gamma 2 replied, arms crossed over his chest.

Frieza's smile sharpened into something much colder. "Oh? I'd quite like to see what gives you the audacity to speak to me like that."

He raised a finger. A thin red energy beam shot toward the android like a bullet.

Gamma 2 scoffed and instantly pulled the energy blaster from his waist. He fired in return.

A pale blue energy bullet burst from his gun, meeting Frieza's attack mid-air and devouring it entirely. It then surged forward, unrelenting.

Boom!

"What?!" Frieza's furious roar echoed from the smoke.

The blast detonated with a violent shockwave, rattling the surrounding air and causing the spaceship to tremble.

Levos quickly took to the air, carrying Bulma with him. "That destructive force…"

He looked toward the explosion's center. A massive crater, over a hundred meters wide, scarred the earth.

Even King Cold flew up beside him, visibly stunned. "How does Earth still have monsters this powerful?!"

Frieza's spaceship tilted precariously toward the crater, its massive mechanical support arms badly damaged.

Gamma 2 grinned smugly. "This is the doctor's latest energy weapon. Stronger than anything I've ever used! I might've overdone it, poured in too much energy. That little shorty probably got vaporized."

"Shorty? Vaporized me?"

A low, icy voice cut through the fading smoke.

A figure slowly rose from the heart of the crater. Frieza.

He was completely unscathed.

"You'll pay dearly for underestimating me," he said coldly.

Rising into the air, Frieza began gathering energy.

Levos could sense it. Frieza hadn't taken any damage at all. His power was terrifying.

Gamma 2, however, remained arrogant. "So what if you survived one? I'll just hit you with three more and you'll be dust!"

Frieza's eyes glinted. "I'm curious. Who told you three would be enough to kill me?"

"Hmph! You'll see!"

Gamma 2 raised his blaster and fired three more energy bullets toward Frieza.

But in that instant, Frieza's body gleamed with a metallic sheen. An immense aura erupted from him.

He didn't dodge.

With both arms extended like twin mountains, he swatted the three energy blasts aside. They shattered mid-air with deafening booms.

"This farce is over," Frieza sneered.

He vanished from sight and reappeared right in front of Gamma 2.

BAM!

His fist tore through space, smashing directly into Gamma 2's chest.

The android's chestplate crumpled like paper, his eyes bulging in pain.

Then came the tail.

Whip!

Frieza's tail lashed out like a whip and struck Gamma 2 across the face.

BOOM!

Gamma 2's body slammed into the ground. The earth split open beneath him. A long, gaping fissure tore through the ruins.

Sparks flew. Gamma 2 twitched, unable to move.

Gamma 1 stood frozen in mid-air. He hadn't even had time to react, and his comrade was already down.

"What the hell are you?!" Gamma 1 gasped.

Frieza tilted his head with a twisted grin. "A monster? Oh no. I'm not a monster. I'm the Emperor of Evil, ruler of the universe!"

His voice dripped with arrogance as he burst into maniacal laughter.

"Emperor of Evil…" Gamma 1's expression turned grim. He glanced at his fallen comrade and clenched his fists. "If that's the case, then I have no choice but to go all out!"

In a flash, he vanished.

In the next moment, he was directly above Frieza, delivering a brutal kick toward his head.

His speed was incredible. Almost instantaneous.

Frieza's crimson eyes narrowed. He raised his arm just in time to block the kick.

CRACK!

The impact sent shockwaves outward in all directions.

Gamma 1 was sent flying backward and crashed into the ground, cracking it open in all directions.

Frieza was just about to follow up with a strike when he stopped, his pupils shrinking.

Gamma 1 had drawn his blaster and was firing nonstop.

Beams of energy poured upward like a storm, bombarding Frieza's position.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The explosions came one after another, a thunderous onslaught that lit up the sky.

Flames and smoke engulfed the area. Even the ruins of the surrounding city were reduced to ash.

People across West City were paralyzed with fear.

"That wasn't an earthquake!"

"Are we… under attack?!"

"Those were bombs! It's a war zone!"

Panic rippled through the crowds as a dark plume of smoke rose into the air.

But when the smoke cleared…

Frieza stood exactly where he had been, completely unharmed.

His face, however, twisted into an ugly snarl.

The two Gamma androids had vanished.

Frieza's eyes narrowed. "So that's what it was… Using a barrage of blasts to blind me and rescue his comrade. I thought he was hiding his true power."

"They can't have gone far. We can catch up!" King Cold snarled and shot off in one direction.

Frieza didn't move.

He stared ahead, an uneasy expression crossing his face.

He could feel it.

Something ominous was coming.

Levos didn't move either. His instincts screamed that someone was lurking in the shadows.

FWOOOSH!

A sudden gust tore through the sky.

In the blink of an eye, the very ground where Frieza had been standing collapsed into dust.

Frieza reappeared high in the air, eyes burning red.

"Who's there?! Come out!"

A shadow blazed toward him, cloaked in golden energy, descending like a divine executioner from the sun itself.

"Frieza, die!!"

A gleaming blade slashed down from above.

The attacker's speed was terrifying. The timing was perfect.

Even Frieza could not dodge this blow.
