"What's going on?"
"Second Miss and Ye Ying, the daughter of the Ye family, are fighting outside Young Master Shen's house."
"What?!"
Gu Lili hurried out the front gate, and with just a glance, spotted her sister-in-law locked in combat once again with Ye Ying.
Last time they beat each other so badly they both ended up in the hospital. And now—again?
"Stop this at once!"
But the two were completely entangled, neither giving ground. Ye Ying had straddled Long Tianjiao and was raising her hand for a slap when she suddenly shrieked in pain—someone had yanked her hair with such force it felt like her scalp was being torn apart. She had no choice but to climb off Long Tianjiao.
Gu Lili released her grip on Ye Ying's hair. "Miss Ye, what exactly are you doing in my neighborhood?"
Ye Ying, seeing who it was, lifted her chin with disdain. "This is between me and Long Tianjiao. None of your business."
"I asked what you're doing in my neighborhood." Gu Lili gestured at the ground beneath their feet. "This is my turf. Do you understand plain language, or should I draw you a map?"
"So what if it's your turf?" Ye Ying sneered, arrogant and defiant. She turned back to Long Tianjiao. "If every meeting ends in a fight, I'm more than happy to oblige!"
"You think I'm scared of you?!" Long Tianjiao shouted, her voice sharp. "Take a long look in the mirror before chasing after Brother Mo—you're delusional, get lost!"
"Say what you want, I still look better than your sister. You two both came from the same crooked mold—ugly as sin."
"You're begging for it…" Long Tianjiao lunged forward again, but Gu Lili grabbed her arm and held her back.
Ye Ying rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Long Tianjiao, go back and train a little before trying me again. With your pathetic skills, my sister could slap you so hard you'd end up back in your mother's womb!"
Gu Lili turned slowly, her eyes narrowing. "You little brat. You're full of hot air, aren't you? Try laying another finger on her and I won't just slap you—I'll leave you crawling."
"Sister-in-law of Long Tianjiao," Ye Ying said mockingly, "if you're so tough, don't call your guards. Let's go one-on-one. I've trained for real—no girl at my school dares go toe-to-toe with me. Who the hell do you think you are?"
Gu Lili's lips twitched in disbelief. This arrogant little thing really needed to be taught a lesson.
"Fine. Let's make this a teachable moment."
As she approached, Ye Ying lashed out with a kick. Gu Lili dodged effortlessly, then caught her arm and twisted it behind her back in one fluid motion. Ye Ying struggled helplessly.
"This is what you call unbeatable skills? The infamous schoolyard queen?"
"Total garbage," Long Tianjiao chimed in, snorting. "Like rotten leftovers!"
"Let me go!" Ye Ying shrieked, struggling against the hold.
"Let you go?" Gu Lili's voice turned icy. "You barged into my domain, ran your mouth like a lunatic, and now you want to leave without so much as an apology?"
"I'm not apologizing! I did nothing wrong!"
"No apology? That's fine. Then you'll be our guest here for a few days. When you learn some manners, I'll let you go."
"You…" Ye Ying howled, "I'm a daughter of the Ye family! You'll regret treating me this way—my parents will not let this slide!"
"I don't care if you're the emperor's long-lost niece. I'm not afraid of anyone."
Seeing that Gu Lili meant every word, Ye Ying finally gave in. "Fine! I apologize! I'm sorry!"
Gu Lili let her go, and she stumbled back, nearly falling. "You're all bullies!"
"Oh, please," Long Tianjiao scoffed. "Wasn't it you shouting big words just now? Now that you've run into my sister-in-law, suddenly we're the bullies? Sister-in-law, tell the gate security from now on—she's banned. No more letting this shady stalker in again!"
