Chapter 125: She's a jerk

"You just go handle that yourself."

"I really don't get it, Long Tianjiao—why do you insist on meddling in other people's business? What the hell does this have to do with you? You're always so annoying. I'm not even chasing after your brother, so what's it to you?"

"Thank goodness you're not chasing my brother. If you even dared to make a move on him, my sister-in-law would knock your teeth out before I even had to lift a finger!"

"Hmph." Ye Ying tossed the words over her shoulder. "Not worth my time."

As Ye Ying walked off, Long Tianjiao muttered, "Like I'd waste my time on you."

"Tianjiao, what's going on? If she wants to pursue Shen Congmo, why do you keep interfering? It's her choice."

"Sis-in-law," Tianjiao slowed her voice, "I wasn't looking for trouble. It's just—Brother Congmo said in the group chat that Ye Ying keeps following him around, and he can't shake her off. That's a red flag, right? She's basically a psycho stalker. So I volunteered to help him out, to deal with this nuisance. I brought some backup, but she showed up with her own crew, and in the end it was just me and her going one-on-one again. Sis-in-law, you've got to teach me how to fight properly—I want to train and beat her into the dirt next time."

"I can teach you, but you've got to promise me one thing—stay out of this from now on," Gu Lili said. "No matter how she follows him around, as long as Congmo doesn't like her, she's powerless. Besides, he's older than you—he can handle it himself. Trust his judgment. You're a good girl, don't drag yourself down to her level. She's a troublemaker—do you want to become one too?"

Long Tianjiao burst out laughing. "Sis-in-law, I'll admit I can be a bit headstrong, but I'm not a troublemaker."

"Then listen to your sister-in-law."

Tianjiao nodded. "Alright. But Sis-in-law, the way you grabbed her by the hair earlier—so cool. And when you made your move... it was awesome. I don't want to go back to the boring Taekwondo studio. When you've got time, just teach me instead?"

"Of course. As long as I'm home, come by anytime. I'll train you myself."

As soon as Long Tianjiao got home, she immediately recounted everything to her grandparents. Upon hearing the story, the old madam spoke up at once: "Your sister-in-law said you were right. She called the girl a troublemaker—and said if you're not one, then don't stoop to her level."

"I really think my sister-in-law is amazing," Tianjiao said, beaming.

Long Mother emerged from the bedroom, phone in hand, just in time to catch that last sentence. "You went to Qinyuan?"

"Yeah, Mom. Sis-in-law and Ye Ying had a fight."

"How disgraceful—she's the Long family's young madam, and she's still getting into brawls?"

Tianjiao bristled. "Mom, it wasn't like that. She was helping me."

"Exactly," the old madam said sharply, casting a disapproving glance at her daughter-in-law. "Did you even hear Tianjiao out before judging Lili like that?"

"I don't care to listen," Long Mother replied coldly. "I'm simply not interested in her affairs."

"Mom, you've got to stop being so prejudiced against my sister-in-law. I'm starting to think my brother actually made a decent choice."

Long Mother shot her a glance. "In this house, I'm the only one who has a problem with her. I just don't get it—there were so many proper young ladies to choose from, all better suited than her. Sure, she's got some skills, but she's shrouded in this constant gloomy aura. Aren't you worried she's a bad omen for our family?"

"Enough with your nonsense," the old madam said, her voice firm. "All this talk of curses and omens—when fate calls, not even the king of hell can change it. If you're meant to die at midnight, you won't live till dawn. Everyone else in this family likes Lili—if you're the only one who doesn't, maybe you're the one in the wrong. Stop blaming her and start examining yourself."
