Chapter 59: Elyse’s Silent Miracle

Elyse stood over the wounded.

Korrin had taken a blade to the back. Naia was holding off two reflections with wildfire breath.

And the sky was falling.

Elyse knelt.

Her hands shook.

And she said nothing.

But light poured from her chest.

She wasn't healing anymore. She was restoring.

She reached back into the soul-root of her friends and re-knitted what the battle tried to unwrite.

A "You are not allowed to die," she whispered. "Because I believe in you."

Korrin gasped as air returned to his lungs. Naia's flames surged brighter.

And somewhere far away, Liss felt it—like sunlight through the fog.

Elyse smiled.

Her own hair turning to light. Her own heart flickering.

And she whispered:

"One more miracle."
