Chapter 34 End of the School Year

Suddenly, Alfrina shouted, "Snape, look out!"

Snape was startled, his foot hesitated for a moment and didn't land. Gary looked closely and saw a box-like object under Snape's foot.

He couldn't react in time and stepped on it.

A fist-sized boxing glove sprang out from the side of the box, flying high and hitting Snape squarely on the forehead.

Then the glove released, and an orange-yellow liquid splattered onto Snape.

This hit Snape's injury again. He swayed left and right twice, then fell to the ground with a thud and passed out.

A fat man, covered in sweat, with a sinister grin and a face full of wrinkles, darted out from around the corner.

It was Howard.

"Hahahaha!" He patted Snape's face. After confirming he was unconscious, he stood up, put his hands on his hips, and laughed triumphantly.

"What's going on?" Gary didn't quite understand the situation.

"Merlin is helping us!" Alfrina leaned forward, cautiously touching the prank glove.

"This thing is one-time use," Howard patted his belly, "James gave it to me, I didn't expect it to actually work!"

"What exactly happened?" Gary was confused. "You told Alfrina your plan, then ran here in advance from the stairs on the other side of the corridor to set up the prank toy?"

"Exactly, your brain reacts quite fast!" Alfrina nodded in approval.

"Were those previous traps also set by James Potter?" Kona, like Gary, was also unaware of their plan.

"That's right!" Howard affirmed, "This thing was his Christmas gift to me. He only said it was a prank toy, I didn't know what its specific effect would be."

"Before, I didn't realize these were James's traps until I heard slug mucus was added to the liquid, then it clicked."

"You two shouldn't be in Ravenclaw," Gary shook his head, "it's a bit of a waste of talent. Gryffindor suits you better."

"What about Snape?" Kona looked worriedly at Snape, who was unconscious on the ground. "He won't be in any trouble, will he?"

"Just send him back to the Hospital Wing," Alfrina said indifferently, "I did warn him, he just wasn't careful and stepped on it again."

The four of them together barely managed to float Snape in the air using the Levitation Charm, slowly making their way back to the Hospital Wing.

The four told Miss Pomfrey what had happened, and she listened, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. She had just sent him out, and less than half an hour later, he was knocked out by the same trap and sent back. There was no one as unlucky as him.

After the few of them sent Snape to the Hospital Wing, they no longer bothered with him. The beds in the Hospital Wing were already full, so Snape would likely have to sleep on the floor tonight, but that was none of their business.

In Astronomy Class next Wednesday, they saw Snape again. His face was even paler, his expression gloomy, and he even nodded in acknowledgment when he saw them.

Gary turned his head and saw Alfrina biting her lip as she looked through her telescope, knowing she was holding back laughter.

The naive Snape didn't know who the perpetrators of these two pranks were, because James had set up too many prank toys, concentrated on the ground and lower floors of the Castle, and many Slytherin and Hufflepuff students had fallen victim.

When Snape learned from Miss Pomfrey that four Ravenclaw students had sent him back to the Hospital Wing again, his hardened heart still felt some gratitude, even though the blonde girl named Alfrina had stepped on him several times before.

At the end of the term, Lily brought Snape to join Gary and the other three. This time, Snape still didn't have a pleasant expression, but at least he no longer targeted people.

But this alone had already changed the four's impression of him, as he had previously been associated with "blood purists."

The grievances between Gary and Snape were thus cleared.

The first year of school quietly ended, with a bit of turbulence amidst the calm. Gary made many good friends at Hogwarts, but his relationship with Sirius Black plummeted, and his relationship with Snape gradually eased.

Regardless, these were all just minor squabbles between children, ultimately not deep-seated animosity.

After the exams, at James's invitation, Gary watched a Quidditch match live for the first time from start to finish.

Slytherin ultimately defeated Gryffindor 300:220 in three hours, winning the Quidditch Cup with three consecutive victories and a total score 150 points ahead of Gryffindor.

On the last day before the holidays, the final exam results were announced. Gary received an A in Potions and Flying Class, and O in all other subjects. Alfrina beautifully achieved all Os.

Howard and Kona's grades were also excellent, with only two or three As.

Only two students in the entire year achieved all Os: Alfrina and Lily.

This year's House Cup was won by Ravenclaw, thanks to the one hundred points Alfrina and Gary earned by submitting their essays.

They packed their luggage, and the seventh-year students bid a reluctant farewell to their dormitories, saying goodbye to Hogwarts from now on.

Everyone boarded the Hogwarts Express once again. This time, the train was no longer chaotic, there were no strange Wizards from Hogsmeade. The graduating students carried the sadness of lost time and the anxious anticipation of future life, while the young Wizards were still carefree, laughing and playing. For them, holidays simply meant continuing to play in a different place.

The train carried a car full of mixed emotions away from Hogwarts, heading towards the starting point of everything—King's Cross Station.

Gary planned to stay in Godric's Hollow this holiday. The Christmas holiday interview had given him a taste of success, and after discussing it with Alfrina, he decided to redouble his efforts and create another big news story together.

A group of Wizards Apparated with their children on the platform, while the remaining crowd surged towards the passage.

"Hoo hoo hoo," Alfrina's parents arrived first. She laughed triumphantly, picked up her suitcase, and rushed to her parents. The three people with blonde hair and round eyes hugged each other.

The Shafeek Couple were in London today to buy things. They waited outside the station, carrying two large bags.

Kona and Howard's homes were in London, so they could take the subway back together.

After having dinner at a restaurant in London, it was already starry when they returned to Godric's Hollow.

Throughout the entire summer, James honed his Quidditch skills in Godric's Hollow. In his second year, he planned to try out for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Losing to Slytherin in this year's final had greatly annoyed the Gryffindor students.

Gary, meanwhile, was busy preparing his next essay. He and Alfrina communicated daily, exchanging ideas constantly. They initially settled on several themes, but considering feasibility and universality, they decided to focus on Defense Against the Dark Arts, a subject that changed teachers every year.
