chilling aura

The whole day had been a whirlwind of drama and chaos. Kaida's supposed to tantrum had left her room in shambles, and it would take hours to fix it back up.

I lay on my bed, my mind replaying the events of the day like a movie on repeat.

That encounter with the mysterious man still lingered in my thoughts, leaving me with more questions than answers.

Who was he? What did he want? The way he carried himself with confidence and authority proved he was someone important.

Maybe a beta?

A high-ranking beta, was he from an enemy pack?

How was he able to walk in freely and leave freely without being noticed

I couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to him and I found myself wondering what secrets he might be keeping.

As I lay there, lost in thought, a soft knock at the door broke the silence.

I hummed softly, approving their entry.

The maids trudged in, bowing slightly as they made their way to my closet.

Niamh, my favorite maid, caught my eye as she slowly walked up to my bedside.

She was a year older than me, but her petite frame and calm demeanor made her seem younger.

Niamh gestured to the bath, and I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me.

A warm bath was just what I needed after a long day. As we walked to the bathroom, Niamh held my hand tightly, her fingers intertwined with mine.

It was a habit we'd developed over the years, a small gesture that brought me comfort.

"Where were you?" Niamh whispered, her voice barely audible over the sound of the water.

I felt a blush creep up her cheeks as I raised my hands to touch hers, resting on my soapy head. "I'm sorry, Niamh. I missed you too."

Niamh's smile grew wider, and she continued washing my hair. The sensation was soothing, and I felt my muscles relax.

The maids had already prepared my bed, and my clothes lay neatly on it. But as I looked out the window, I felt a shiver run down my spine.

The window rattled, and I felt that familiar chilling feeling again. Only this time, it was stronger.

I ran my hands through my arms, trying to warm myself up. But as I turned to look away, my eyes caught something that made my heart skip a beat.

I hurriedly walked to the closed window and pressed my head against the glass, inching closer to get a better view. And then, I saw him.

Those blue eyes that had haunted me all day were staring back at me.

I felt a deep vibrating sound deep within my head, something trying to get out while repeating the same word:

"Mate."

My breath caught in my throat as our gazes locked. The world around me seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of us, connected by an unseen force.

I felt a rush of emotions, a mix of fear and excitement. What did it mean? What did he want from me?

As I stood there, frozen in shock, I felt Niamh's gentle touch on my shoulder.

"Are you okay?" she asked, concern etched on her face. I nodded, trying to compose myself.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

But I wasn't fine. I was shaken to my core. Who was this man, and what did he want from me?

My wolf only seemed to awaken when he was near

Niamh lead me across the room and I sat down at my vanity to style my hair

As I brushed my hair, I couldn't help but think about the strange feeling I had experienced when I saw him. It was as if my body had recognized him, and my mind was trying to catch up.

I walked over to the window and looked out, but he was nowhere to be seen.

I felt a pang of disappointment, and felt a whimper from the voice I had grown to know was my wolf.

I turned away from the window and walked over to my bed, where my book lay open. I picked it up, but I couldn't focus on the words. My mind kept wandering back to the mysterious man.

Just then, I heard a knock at the door. It was Kaida, come to check on me. "Hey, are you okay?" she asked, concern etched on her face.

"Ehm….. Niamh was in my room"

I nodded, trying to smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little distracted."

Kaida nodded understandingly. "You can talk to me about it, you know. I'm here for you."

I smiled, feeling grateful for my friend. "Thanks, Kaida. I appreciate it."

We chatted for a bit, and then Kaida left to go back to her room. I was alone again, lost in my thoughts.

As the night wore on, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. I felt like I was being watched, and the mysterious man's eyes kept haunting me.

I had stood up multiple times to check if by chance he was still there in the shadows looking up my window... I could feel him but I wasn't sure if I was just making things up.

Just as I was starting to drift off to sleep, I heard a faint noise outside my window. I sat up straight, my heart racing.

Was he back?
