In a war-torn world where open sin became the norm and Christianity was outlawed, the selfish and destructive habits of the human race were brought into stark focus and amplified. This shift followed humanity's first esoteric contacts with otherworldly beings, revelations that opened humanity's eyes to forbidden secrets previously unknown.
After the normalization of the sinful and esoteric, humans and hellspawn hybrids now live alongside one another, united within a Western Coalition led by a charismatic political figure known as the Antichrist. In retaliation for humanity's embrace of heresy, a merciless and mysterious God unleashed an army of relentless, machine-hybrid angels to purge the sins of this defiant new humanity through sheer force and bloodshed.
Roaming the sin-infested wasteland once called the United States – now renamed to the United States of Gomorrah – desperate sinners known as Burdens travel the scarred land, desperately claiming pacts in the name of Satan in exchange for forgiveness of their sins.
Hello. I am Kanashii Yagi, the author of Burden. If you're interested, use this comment to ask me any question you might have, be it about Burden or about myself. I'll start with some basics. "Where are you from?" I'm japanese and currently live in Tokyo. "Are you a man or a woman?" Depends. "Do you have any prior writing experience?" Yes, but i got rid of it, so you'll never be able to find it. "What are you expectations about Burden?" That i can gather at least a small fanbase of people unhinged to enough to read all 666 chapters. "Who is your main inspiration?" Sui Ishida. Honorable mention goes to Yoshihiro Togashi. "Do you post on Royal Road?" Yes.
This Novel feels a lot like a book, which can be good or bad depending on who you ask Anyways, i really liked the descriptive nature and the overall world concept, which has a lot of potential to expand in further chapters
最終評分:5/5 (目前)[img=recommend]
I am a Japanese woman, so my english is not that good(Haha), but i'll be using a translator for this review. I read the novel using a translator on the parts i didn't understand, but i still managed to get the core idea! The power system reminded me a lot of Hunter x Hunter and Jujutsu Kaisen with it's mild complexity and potential. I really hope the novel does not fall off in this aspect. (I also gotta say i enjoyed a lot of the hot moments, if you know what i meant, hahaha)
This is my first time using this app, and i can't help but say im very impressed! The power system is kinda being developed i think but it's still really cool, the descriptions are also on point and the characters so far are pretty likeable Would love to see this as manga or comic someday
