Ashley reached the office fifteen minutes later than her resume time. All the way here, she kept on mumbling silent prayers. Cameron was still mad at her for God knows what.

When she got to her cubicle and settled down, her eyes travelled across the room to the transparent doors. He was already in and a man was also present there with him. They were both involved in a very deep discussion.

"What happened? You're late. The Boss asked of you a few minutes ago"

She raised her head only to see Brittany poking her head a little into her cubicle. Her heart skipped two beats.

He asked of her? How was she going to face him?

Soon enough, the door to his office opened and he stepped out with the man whom he had been Interacting with. Despite all of Ashley's effort to shrink and appear small, he still looked at her for a brief second.
