Ashley stood before the mirror staring at her pale face and red swollen eyes. She almost passed out in her boss's office because she thought she saw Andrew.

Andrew's ill treatment towards her has made her very wary of men who snap or yell at her. It wasn't easy to leave the relationship. She had to endure whatever he did just so that her mother could be stabilized.

If it weren't for her mother, she'd have left long ago with her son. Every problem of hers started seven years ago after that one night. Her position as the most favored child soured down to the most hated child in her maternal and paternal home.

She hardly ever hears from them, the only people who could come as close as a family to her were Winnie and Lucy. They were the ones who set her up with Andrew and she blindly fell for it thinking it was true love.
