Taste of Blood

Anna sat on the blue couch that surrounded the table from three sides as she waited for the waiters to bring her meal which was already ordered by White.

White stood behind the couch with a small smile on his face.

Anna turned her head as she looked at White and spoke

"Why don't you sit as well?"

"It's fine, Miss Anieal." White replied. He paused for a few moments and continued

"It's not appropriate for a servant to eat with their master." he spoke with the same smile as before.

Anna hearing that shook her head and spoke

"Then I order you to do so." she spoke in an authoritative tone.

White looked at her with a wry smile as he walked towards one of the ends of the couch and took a seat.

"Better." Anna said as she puffed up her chest.

Few moments later the curtains parted as the waitresses entered their room and started to place the array of plates full with their meal on the table at the centre. The thick aroma of cooked meat and vegetables filled the room. The dishes had star beast meat and vegetables which were evolved by the star essence in Azor.

Anna's mouth started to water inwardly as she took a huge gulp.

*gulp*

Hearing her the young waitresses started to giggle but soon their expression returned to as they were before.

Anna lowered her head in embarrassment, seeing that a chuckle left White's lips.

Anna looked at White as she spoke in a hurried tone.

"L-let's eat." Anna said as she placed some of the food on her plate and started to eat it.

As soon as the piece of food entered her mouth it exploded like a boom made up of flavours. Anna's eyes went hazy for a few moments just because of how delicious the food was.

White also had the same reaction but he tried to control himself from showing too much of an expression.

The two of them ate in silence. Only the sound of cutlery hitting the plate was heard in the room.

After finishing the food Anna looked at White and questioned.

"We should return to the villa, yes?"

White looked at Anna and answered.

"Please wait for a few more moments, I'll get the carriage ready." White said as he walked out of the room.

Anna sat on the couch as she sipped from a wine glass filled with a wine of purple and blue hued colour.

The curtains to her room parted as a man having brown dishevelled hair and dark grey eyes entered the room. His eyes were unfocused, clearly drunk. He walked towards the couch and sat upon it as he questioned.

"Are you Miss Kinten?" He asked, his tone was polite even though he was clearly drunk.

"I am." Anna answered with a raised eyebrow.

"Are you somehow related to Mars Kinten?" He asked again, this time however his body trembled slightly and his voice was shaky at the end.

"Why do you ask?" Anna asked back, clearly interested in the conversation.

"I just wanted to know if you were related to that monster." the drunk man said as he lowered his head in fright.

"If you are that scared, why did you even walk up to here?" Anna asked as she couldn't understand his train of thoughts.

"The alcohol took over my reasoning for a moment…" the drunk man replied, his head still hung low.

"Hmm… What do you mean by 'monster'?" Anna asked as her eyes gleamed with interest.

The drunk man finally raised his head as he looked at her and spoke.

"I don't think I should talk about it, if he himself hadn't told you yet." the drunk man concluded.

A small smile crept up on Anna's lips as she spoke with a sneer.

"I wonder what you really want?" Anna questioned, her eyes gleamed with curiosity.

"Huh? What do you mean?" the drunk man asked as he tilted his head.

"You know… you are not good with controlling your star essence." Anna said, a small smile still adorning her face.

"Hmm?" The drunk man appeared more confused when Anna said that.

Anna also tilted her head but soon her eyes sparkled as she hit her palm with her fist.

"I see."

"You don't know about my awakening… but you know that I am not in Azure anymore." Anna said as she continuously nodded her head.

"Ah, I see. You are with the guys who sent the assassins after me." Anna said. Her voice turned colder as she spoke.

The drunk man suddenly jumped back from the couch as Anna tried to stab him with her dagger.

The drunk man raised his hand and pointed his index finger at Anna, the topmost of his index finger started to glow as a greyish blue orb of star essence left his finger at a terrifying speed and hit Anna on the head.

Anna flew out of the couch and landed on the wall, her body lay still by the wall, seemingly unconscious from the attack.

The drunk man walked towards Anna and shot a few more times at her vitals. He then shot at her waist where her dagger sheaths were strapped causing it to fall down from her waist, he then kicked the sheaths away.

He walked towards unarmed Anna, his finger still pointed at her head. He turned her using his leg and waited for a few moments seemingly checking if she was still awake or not.

"She is finally down, huh." the drunk man spoke as he bent down to pick up Anna into his arms.

"Better than killing her… she still has her use, after all." He continued to mumble to himself as he suddenly felt warmth flowing in his throat, he touched his lips and looked at them as they were dyed in crimson.

"Huh?!" Confused, he looked down and then he saw two daggers had pierced his body from behind in such a fluid motion that he hadn't even registered the pain from the stab.

Suddenly, something pulled his leg as he fell down on his knee. He hurriedly lifted his head and he saw Anna looking at him with indifference and ruthlessness clear in her eyes.

His body stiffened and started to tremble as the instinctive fear of death started to crawl on his being. Anna's eyes started to glow golden as more thread materialised on her hands.

She placed her hand above his head and the threads started to enter his body via holes of his nose, ears and eye sockets.

Her star essence began to flow in the threads, she wrapped his organs with the threads and shredded them to pieces one by one.

"ARRRGGGHHHH…AAARRRGGGH" the man screamed in absolute agony, however Anna didn't stop.

Soon, his eyes dimmed as life left his body.

Anna fell onto the couch as she breathed heavily. Anna knew that what she had done was unnecessary, inefficient even. But her hate for these people had taken over her reasoning and the euphoria from the pleasure of revenge made it all that worse to control her mind.

Suddenly, the curtains of the room parted as White walked in and his eyes fell on the dead man lying on the ground.

'What happened here? Who is this? and more importantly… Why does he look like that?' White questioned inwardly as he saw the look of absolute horror and agony on the face of the dead man.

"He came to kidnap me." Anna spoke, her voice cold as a frozen lake.

"What?" White blinked a few times as he heard that.

"He turned to the dead man's face and thought

'That face doesn't look like a person who came to kidnap someone.' he thought inwardly.
