Powerful Byakugan

Kitazawa was stunned for a few seconds and only snapped back to his senses after the system instilled the new information.

As expected of the legendary dōjutsu that originates from the Ōtsutsuki, the Byakugan brings a tremendous improvement to an ordinary ninja.

If his strength had previously been close to that of a Jonin before, now he could barely be considered one. With the Gentle Fist, he could truly be called a Jonin.

Kitazawa hurried to the training ground at the edge of Konoha Village. Since it was already after working hours, the training ground was empty.

He pulled out a mirror and looked into it. His eyes were still black.

"This time, the system finally did something smart," Kitazawa nodded in satisfaction.

When the Sharingan is activated, the magatama appears. But when deactivated, it looks like a regular eye. Of course, only Uchiha clan members can turn off the Sharingan.

One of the main reasons Hatake Kakashi is so weak is that he can't turn off his Sharingan.

The Byakugan, however, is different from the Sharingan. Whether active or not, the Byakugan appears pure white—it stands out at first glance.

Fortunately, Kitazawa had a system plug-in. His Byakugan only activated when he willed it to. When deactivated, it returned to his normal eyes.

Kitazawa silently gave the command to activate it. The meridians around his eye sockets suddenly surged. The next second, he felt the world around him undergo a dramatic change.

It was like going from blurry 360P to crisp 4K ultra-high definition—complete with a 360-degree panoramic view. It was as if he had eyes on the back of his head.

"Amazing," Kitazawa observed everything around him and became even more impressed by the Byakugan.

No wonder talented Hyuga clan members could become Jonin so easily.

He turned to look at a tree not far away. He focused, and the tree disappeared from his sight—replaced by the scene behind it.

He then turned his gaze to his hand and raised it. He could clearly see the meridians, acupoints, bones, and chakra flow within.

The Byakugan had three major functions: insight, x-ray vision, and telescopic vision. He had tested insight and x-ray vision—now only telescopic vision remained.

He raised his head and looked into the distance. His vision stretched outward, capturing every scene along the way. Eventually, his sight stopped after reaching one kilometer.

One kilometer—one thousand meters. It was worth noting that the Byakugan's effective range is a radius of one kilometer, not just a straight line.

And even that wasn't the limit. With training and practice, the range could be extended further. Kitazawa deactivated the Byakugan and let out a slow breath.

From his testing, his Byakugan was already at the level of an average Hyuga Jonin.

However, the system had provided all the foundational knowledge about the Byakugan. With practice, he could still improve it further.

But ascending to the Rinnegan was out of the question. Even so, the regular Byakugan was already immensely useful.

Kitazawa could clearly feel his strength had significantly increased. He calmed himself and began heading home.

On the way, he was tempted to activate the Byakugan several times—but resisted. He had no reasonable explanation for how he obtained it, and if discovered, it could lead to trouble.

Moreover, powerful ninjas like Jonin could sense when the Byakugan was observing them.

The next day.

When Kitazawa went to buy breakfast, he also picked up a pair of sunglasses.

"Teacher Kitazawa!" Hinata greeted him with a bright smile.

"Did you tell your father about your appetite?" Kitazawa recalled her mission.

There were two conditions: one, she had to be full; and two, she had to reveal the secret on her own. All he could do was ensure she ate well.

As for the second requirement, it likely involved Hiashi Hyuga.

"How did you know?" Hinata blinked in surprise.

"I guessed." Kitazawa reached out, tapped her forehead, and smiled. "Congratulations."

"Thank you..." Hinata looked down shyly and said softly, "It was because of Teacher Kitazawa that I had the courage."

Her voice was light and gentle.

"I didn't do anything." Kitazawa shook his head and said, "Hinata, you were brave on your own."

Hinata looked at him, momentarily stunned.

"How's your water-walking training coming along?" Kitazawa asked, shifting the topic.

"I can walk to the other side of the lake without falling now," Hinata answered proudly.

"Nice, that means you've completed the basic stage of water-walking training." Kitazawa smiled. "What kind of training would you like to do next?"

"Eh?" Hinata looked at him, stunned for a moment. "I'll follow whatever Teacher Kitazawa arranges."

"Then tell me—what's your current wish?" Kitazawa rephrased his question. The reason he was probing so carefully was to trigger a new task.

"Me?" Hinata tilted her head, thought for a while, and said, "I want to awaken my Byakugan as soon as possible."

As she spoke her wish, Kitazawa was stunned as four lines of text suddenly appeared before him.

Then, the smile on his face deepened. He was beginning to understand how the system generated tasks.

[Your classmate Hyuga Hinata is seeking your help.

Current Task: Help Hinata Hyuga awaken her Byakugan.

Task Reward: Eight Trigrams: Mountain Crusher.]

[Do you accept?]

Kitazawa accepted without hesitation.

The Eight Trigrams: Mountain Crusher Strike was a soft fist technique that resembled a chakra-enhanced strike, capable of delivering a blow strong enough to shatter mountains.

"Alright." Kitazawa smiled. "In the practical class this afternoon, your training will change."

"What kind of training?" Hinata asked curiously.

"That's a secret." Kitazawa raised a finger to her lips. "Promise me, don't even tell your father."

"Yes." Hinata blushed and nodded.

Afternoon – Practical Class.

All the students of Class A began their special training according to yesterday's schedule.

"Teacher Kitazawa." Sakura raised her hand. "Why did only Hinata get new training?"

She was talented in chakra control. Although she had started a bit late, she had already caught up and was now water-walking alongside Hinata and Ino.

From her perspective, all three of them were at the same level.

"We'll be competing with second-year Class A in four areas." Kitazawa explained, "Among them, I'm most optimistic about you and Ino for the chakra control category."

"Really?" Sakura asked with surprise.

"Of course." Kitazawa nodded. "That's why I'm also adjusting your water-walking training."

"What adjustment?" She asked, puzzled.

"When walking on water, Ino will use a wooden kunai to disrupt you." Kitazawa smiled. "And you'll do the same to her."

"Teacher Kitazawa, are you a devil?" Sakura widened her eyes.

"To make sure neither of you slacks off, I'll add one more rule." Kitazawa continued, "Whoever gets hit the most by the kunai… will have their homework doubled."

"You really are a devil!" Sakura said, face blank.

"Sakura, sorry!" Ino rolled up her sleeves, revealing her fair arms. "You'll be doing the homework for both of us!"

Kitazawa chuckled softly. With just three sentences… he had turned women against each other.
