The sanctuary dimension Kaelthar created had evolved into a breathtaking paradise—its natural beauty shaped by imagination, will, and the warmth of those who now called it home.
Today, the twin suns beamed gently over the horizon, casting a golden shimmer on the vast crystalline ocean that stretched endlessly toward the floating islands above. Soft white sands curved around the water like an artist's brushstroke—untouched, serene, and waiting.
A perfect day for the beach.
"Alright, everyone's ready!" Kunou shouted with excitement, already running down the wooden path toward the shore, a colorful floatie around her waist and fox ears twitching in delight.
Kaelthar followed leisurely behind, dressed in simple black swim shorts, his long silver hair tied loosely at the nape of his neck. His toned body glistened faintly under the light, carved like a statue of divine power.
The moment he stepped onto the sand, a soft whistle came from the side.
"Well, well... look who's turning heads now," Akeno teased.
Kaelthar turned—and stopped.
Rias, Akeno, Yasaka, and Koneko stood beneath a large umbrella, their presence radiant and… utterly distracting.
Rias wore a red bikini with gold accents that hugged her curves perfectly, her long crimson hair flowing behind her like a queen of the beach. Akeno, never one to hold back, wore a black string bikini that showed off her flawless figure and creamy skin, her ample chest barely contained. She gave him a wink as she adjusted her top—deliberately.
Yasaka, elegant as always, wore a white and gold swimsuit that perfectly balanced allure and grace, the fabric accentuating her motherly yet seductive form. Her golden tails shimmered in the sun, and her fan covered just enough of her smile to leave Kaelthar wondering what she was planning.
And then there was Koneko.
The petite nekomata wore a sleek, pale lavender one-piece that clung to her in just the right ways, her usual blank expression tinged with something more... daring.
Kaelthar blinked once.
Rias smirked. "Like what you see?"
"You planned this," he said flatly.
Akeno laughed. "Who, us? No way. We just wanted to enjoy the sun... and maybe tease a certain someone a little."
Yasaka stepped forward, placing a hand on his chest. "You've given us a home, Kaelthar. Let us give you a day of fun in return."
"...I sense danger," he muttered.
"Oh, you should," Akeno purred, walking past him and giving his arm a light drag with her fingers.
They set up a picnic area, complete with magical drinks, enchanted umbrellas, and food conjured fresh from Yasaka's dimensional storage. Kunou splashed in the shallow waters, shouting joyfully as she played with Koneko, the two girls giggling and tossing beach balls and water spells at one another.
Meanwhile, Kaelthar stood in the surf, water lapping at his ankles as he watched the horizon.
Then came Rias.
She pressed against his back, arms sliding around his waist. "You always look so serious."
"Someone has to," he replied.
"But not today," she whispered. "Today, you're ours."
Before he could respond, Akeno splashed water at them from behind.
"Time for a swim, Guardian!"
What followed was a playful—and increasingly flirtatious—battle in the sea.
Rias dove underwater and tugged at his legs. Yasaka summoned tiny water foxes that nipped at his arms. Akeno trapped him in a bubble and floated around him like a siren, giggling as she posed in the air. Even Koneko joined in, climbing on his back with her arms around his neck.
"Caught you," she whispered into his ear, soft and close.
The teasing intensified once they returned to shore. Rias stretched languidly on her towel, her bikini slightly untied as she "accidentally" turned over. Akeno sat in Kaelthar's lap under the shade, feeding him slices of chilled fruit while her chest pressed into him with every movement.
"You're too quiet," she whispered, brushing his cheek with her lips. "Are we making it hard to focus?"
"Extremely," he answered without hesitation.
Yasaka curled up beside him, her tails wrapping gently around his arm. "You could just let go. Relax. We're not going anywhere."
Koneko placed a small plate of sweets on his stomach, then laid her head on his thigh. "Eat first. Then play."
Even Kunou, tired from all the swimming, curled up in his lap like a sleepy kitten, mumbling, "Papa's so comfy…"
Kaelthar exhaled softly, brushing his fingers through her hair. The weight of responsibilities, the looming cosmic threats—they all faded under the warmth of the sun and the closeness of those around him.
"I suppose," he murmured, "a Guardian is allowed one day off."
"Amen to that," Akeno whispered, pressing a kiss to his shoulder.
That night, as the sun set in brilliant hues of purple and gold, the girls remained by his side—laughing, leaning against him, resting their heads on his shoulders.
It wasn't just a beach day.
It was a memory—soft, glowing, real.
A glimpse of the happiness Kaelthar never thought he'd have.
And as the stars rose in the twilight sky above the ocean, he realized something quietly profound:
He wasn't just their protector anymore.
