ROMAN
The sound of bone crushing beneath my fist filled my ears. Blood splattered across my face, hot and metallic. Vaughn's body went slack, but I couldn't stop. My vision had narrowed to a pinpoint, and all I could see was the man who had destroyed my family.
"Did you kill my father?" I growled, pinning him to the ground.
Vaughn coughed, blood bubbling between his broken teeth. A smile spread across his mangled face.
"I watched the light leave his eyes," he wheezed. "The great Alpha Vance, begging for mercy while I tore out his throat."
He spat blood in my face, the warm droplets sliding down my cheek.
Something inside me snapped. The thin thread of control I'd been clinging to dissolved completely.
I lost myself in a haze of violence. My fists rose and fell, each impact sending shockwaves up my arms. I couldn't hear anything beyond the roar of blood in my ears, couldn't feel anything beyond the savage satisfaction of revenge.
