"I will never be yours again," I spat, my voice trembling with rage. "What part of that don't you understand?"
Julian's eyes darkened as he moved closer, his body trapping me against the wall of Adrian's parlor. The scent that once comforted me now made my stomach churn.
"You still love me," he insisted, his voice dropping to a whisper. "I can feel it through our bond, Sera. You can deny it all you want, but your body remembers mine."
I laughed bitterly. "What I feel is disgust. That's all that's left."
His jaw tightened. "You think I don't know what you're doing? Using that kid to get closer to Adrian?"
"Leo isn't a tool for me to use," I shot back, appalled. "Unlike you, I don't manipulate people to get what I want."
Julian's hand shot out, gripping my chin roughly. "Don't act so innocent. We both know what you're capable of."
