I stared at my discharge papers, still trying to process that I was actually leaving the hospital. After the wolfsbane poisoning, part of me hadn't been sure I'd walk out of here at all.
"Are you feeling alright?"
I looked up to see Hudson standing in the doorway with a woman I hadn't met before. She was tall and elegant with kind eyes that immediately put me at ease.
"I'm Dr. Amelia Grant," she said, extending her hand. "I've been monitoring your case alongside Dr. Ellis."
"Nice to meet you," I replied, shaking her hand. "And yes, I'm feeling much better. Thank you."
Dr. Grant smiled warmly. "Your recovery is remarkable. Wolfsbane poisoning usually takes weeks to overcome, but your wolf has exceptional healing abilities."
Hudson moved beside her, his normally stern expression softening as he placed his hand on the small of her back. The gesture was subtle but intimate.
"Amelia is our pack's leading doctor," he explained, pride evident in his voice. "And my mate."
