After almost an hour of struggling to bath and prepare to leave, she wondered where Kairos was going to and why she had to be the one to escort him, shrugging she didn't think too much of it, she was excited that atleast she had the opportunity to go out
Leaving her hair down and placing the necklace in her pocket safely, she walked out of her room, walking towards the main entrance of the palace to see Kairos putting on his coat with the help of his butler
"I hope I didn't keep you waiting your majesty" she said bowing
"I just came out, let's head to the carriage"
Lana raised an eyebrow, did she just hear carriage, like the one with the horse in front or maybe he meant something else.
Following behind, Lana admired the magnificent garden, big enough to contain two apartment buildings and a green house
There was different types of flowers planted around the garden and a beautiful fountain with a statue of a woman, almost naked, seeing that Lana shivered, when was the last time she saw a fountain with a statue.
Looking at the blue sky, the sun bathed her skin as if greeting her after a long time, she felt like she could breathe again
they finally arrived beside the carriage, tilting a bit Lana wiped her eyes to make sure she wasn't imagining things, this was really a carriage
How did this still exist, was she sent back in time, Lana's thoughts were spiraling that she didn't notice the hand stretched for her to climb into the carriage
Clearing his throat Kairos called "Lana do you intend to walk to our destination" bringing her out from her thoughts
"Oh...sorry" she said nervously, taking Kairos hand she stepped into the carriage. The carriage wasn't so bad, it has foamed sit for comfort and curtains for privacy and the ride was smooth
Kairos sat across Lana with his legs crossed, his hand on his chin lazily. He watched Lana look fascinated at just a carriage, he had never been so interested in someone's facial expression until she came around
"Your majesty if I may ask, where are we going" Lana asked shifting her gaze to look at him
"You'll find out when we get there" he replied, closing his eyes
Lana stared at him lazily resting his chin on his hand with his eyes closed, he didn't look like he could hurt a fly with his plain expression and how he looked so vulnerable like he knew no one will dare attack him
His hair fell on his forehead, making him look like an indifferent prince charming, Lana didn't miss a chance to ogle at his gorgeousness, she cursed the gods for being so unfair
"If you keep looking at me like that, I'll start to think that you have fallen for me" Kairos said smiling mishieviously
Lana cringed at him, he was only handsome to her when he didn't speak "maybe if you weren't such a red flag I would" she muttered under her breath
"What did you say?"
"Nothing" Lana said opening the curtain to look outside the window
They were passing through a market, she admired the scene, kids playing, adults buying and selling all with smiles on their faces
The place looked peaceful, too peaceful to have a tyrant king ruling them, she thought giving Kairos a dirty glare, lowering her gaze she decided that he wasn't that bad if the kingdom was this peaceful
Closing the curtains, Lana wondered where she was, she was curious but she didn't want to ask, not having any knowledge of this place will be better for her so nobody will have a reason to make her stay
Once she leaves she'll only have memories of what she has seen and experienced. nothing more
Kairos opened his eyes, gazing at her, she was quiet he wondered what was going on in her head, he could find out if he wanted to but for some reason he decided against it cause he knew she wouldn't be happy if she found out
One thing he knew for sure, is that she was desperate to leave his side but he wouldn't let that happen, not until he is certain that she's not the chosen one, his bride.
Finally the carriage stopped in front of a mansion
"Your majesty we've arrived" a guard stated, opening the carriage door
Lana didn't know when she dozed off in the carriage, the sound of the guard talking woke her up. Looking outside the carriage they were in front of a mansion
Lana wondered what the king wanted to do here, when he could simply summon any of his subjects
Kairos climbed down from the carriage, stretching his hand for her to take
Lana placed her hand on his and slowly climbed down from the carriage
Both of them turning to the mansion Lana asked "your majesty who did we come to visit"
"My dear betrothed" Kairos replied, Lana shivered turning to him in shock, seeing the evil smile on his face, the face of a devil with golden eyes flashed in her mind.
