Chapter 80: How Can You Call It Stealing When It’s Culture?

Dong dong dong~

Gin hammered on the door of his big, fancy house, telling himself to stay calm.

"I'm coming, I'm coming!"

The familiar voice came closer as the door was yanked open. Itama, his face shining with grease, beamed happily.

"You're early with the delivery today! Hand over the fish—"

But the moment he saw it was Gin at the door, his eyes changed completely.

Bang!

The door slammed shut. Hiding behind it, Itama's pupils quivered in shock. He's back?!

DONG DONG DONG!!

The knocking grew more violent, and the little brat's initial shock turned into terror. Finally, there was a loud CRACK as a fist punched clean through the thick wood. A head poked through, grinning wickedly.

"Here's Johnny!"

"Ahhh—gah!"

Itama had no idea what that meant, but it didn't matter — the terror was enough to make him faint on the spot.

Gin twisted the door open through the hole, raised an eyebrow at the unconscious boy on the floor, and muttered,

"I didn't even get to show him some real horror. Too easy."

When Itama finally woke up, he found Gin happily devouring the grilled fish he'd ordered. Guilty, the kid swallowed hard and didn't dare say a word.

"You've been living it up, huh? Even have your own delivery girl?"

Gnawing down the last bite, Gin picked at his teeth with a fishbone and asked lazily.

"It's not like that… I just did it a few days."

Itama ducked his head and explained quickly,

"That shop offered delivery. I didn't wanna go out and cause trouble, so I paid for a whole month."

"Well aren't you clever."

Gin stood up, picked up a broom, and sighed.

"Of course I am, I mean—hey! Stop! Don't hit me!"

Itama started bragging but was instantly cut off by a rain of broom-thwacks that had him yelping and hopping around.

After cleaning up the little brat, Gin felt refreshed and ordered him to clean both houses while he himself headed for the familiar back courtyard.

He hadn't had a chance to grind NPCs while he was in the hospital — maybe today he'd get something big.

He waited for quite a while, frowning when nothing spawned. He was about to check if the system was glitching when a faint noise behind him caught his attention — and, strangely enough, his vision showed him what was happening behind him too.

A small figure stepped out from a familiar ripple of light, eyeing him warily.

"Izuna?"

At first Gin thought it was his little cousin coming to visit, but then he noticed the clothing and the forehead protector from a completely different era. Only then did he realize this was an NPC.

"…Sasuke!"

Ah. After the big bro comes the little bro, huh?

The boy in the blue shirt and grey shorts was in his classic genin getup.

What's he even gonna drop at this stage? Doesn't even have Chidori yet. I doubt anything else would interest me anyway.

Sasuke stayed silent, his eyes empty of emotion as he suddenly charged forward.

"Sigh… fine, I'll play with you. Call it rehab."

Gin didn't even bother to activate his Sharingan. He lazily lifted a single hand and smacked the boy around.

As expected, Sasuke was floored in seconds.

"That's it? That's all?"

Even knowing it was just an NPC, Gin couldn't resist snarking.

But then the boy on the ground looked up at him, a fleeting glimmer of awareness in his blank eyes before he was swallowed back into the light and vanished.

Backyard Daily Random Skill: Indra Chakra Fragment acquired.

[Indra Chakra Fragment (1/***) — collect *** fragments to synthesize Indra Chakra.]

What the hell? He actually dropped that?!

Gin stared at the fragment hovering in his system, stunned by this little taste of Six Paths power. It was even classified as a skill?

No explanation, no number of pieces required, nothing.

Balling his fists, Gin felt a surge of motivation. Looks like I've got a real grind ahead of me.

The faint coolness of chakra flowed through him, washing away the sweat he'd broken during the fight.

In good spirits, he returned to the house and left the little Senju brat alone for once. Back in his room, he began organizing his recent loot.

In the system space, the once-empty board was now full of treasures. After his week of "hard-fought" duels, Gin had completed two full rounds of Heart of Steel and opened the chests. As always, the bulk was just gold bricks — now piled so high he felt no excitement for money anymore — but he turned his eyes to the few notable items.

On the left was the Thorn Vest from a few days ago. He'd also pulled two more items since then: a claw-shaped blue necklace and a strange card.

[Dragon's Claw]: Gain 9% max HP. Regenerate 5 HP every two days.

[Metabolic Accelerator]: Regenerate 2 HP per day. (Unique binding)

So what exactly does HP mean here? Gin asked the system curiously.

"HP is your lifeforce bar. The higher your HP, the longer your lifespan. One point of HP equals one day of life."

Gin was shocked. So if I wear these two together, I'd gain 4.5 extra days for every day I live. I could outlive Boruto's grandson at this rate!

"Only one lifeforce-recovering item or Hextech card may be equipped at a time," the system coldly informed him, crushing his dream immediately.

Gin smacked his lips. Fine, fine, that's fair.

Back in reality, Gin fastened the blue claw necklace around his neck. A warm, tingling energy spread through him, so relaxing he couldn't help but groan aloud.

"Hey, keep the noise down when you're doing… whatever that is. There's still a minor in the house!"

Itama's voice came from outside, startling Gin enough that he dropped the Metabolic Accelerator card he'd just conjured up.

"Watch your feet, I'm cleaning up this trash!"

Itama waltzed in naturally, broom in hand, and started sweeping.

"Tsk. These scrolls are practically antiques now — you still want them?"

"Not worth keeping," Gin muttered.

As Itama finished cleaning, his eyes fell on the shiny card on the floor. Curious, he picked it up.

"Seems like a waste to leave this lying around. I'll just take it!"

Without waiting for permission, the little brat shoved the card in his pocket and walked out.

Gin, still recovering from his earlier bliss, finally snapped to attention and yelled,

"Hey! Give that back, you little thief!"
