Chapter 9

ADELINE

"Who are you?" I cower back into a tree as I look at the person standing in front of me.

He stands at above six feet, broad and rugged, as his black shirt barely contains his muscles. But his head is covered by a black ghostface mask.

"Is that how you thank your savior?" He drops to one knee in front of me.

I look at my surroundings. All the prisoner wolves that were rampantly attacking me earlier now lay dead on the ground, without a sign of life in them.

"Why… Why did you save me?" I clutch my ripped dress tighter as I look at the man.

The sound of his deep chuckle, reverberates in the forest, "Why, you ask? Little wolf, don't you know it yourself?" His fingers reach out to twirl my hair.

I swat his hand away, "Don't touch me!"

"And?" He cups my chin, leaning in, "Any more wishes?"

I wince at his bruising grip.
