North Blue, Minion Island
The lead-gray sky was like a giant pot about to collapse. The snow-covered ruins and wrecked ships formed the desolate backdrop of this battlefield. The sea breeze carried a biting chill, like a sharp sword cutting through the eardrums. In the distance, the smell of rust and blood intertwined.
—The "Op-Op Fruit," worth 5 billion Berries, was about to cause a bloodbath here.
On the island's cliff, Doflamingo looked down, his sunglasses hiding the greed and coldness in his eyes. "Fufufufufu... the 'Immortality Operation'... it's finally going to be mine." The cold wind howled, his pink coat particularly striking in the snow. Behind him, his family executives, including Trebol, Pica, and Diamante, stood in formation, full of killing intent.
Trebol sneered, "Young Master, the Marines have already landed on the island, but it doesn't matter. Our people have already mixed in."
Doflamingo slowly raised his hand, his fingertips lightly tapping. "Then let them watch their hopes shatter with their own eyes."
At the dilapidated pier, three Marine warships were docked like steel behemoths, their hull numbers blurred in the wind and snow. "Fleet Admiral Sengoku's orders, we must ensure the safe recovery of the Op-Op Fruit," a Vice Admiral said, gripping the sword at his waist, cold sweat beading on his forehead. Footsteps were chaotic, and the air was filled with the smell of gunpowder and unease. The Marines didn't know that there were already spies from the Donquixote Family among them.
Deep inside the island's warehouse, an oil lamp swayed in the wind, the flickering light casting long shadows on the warehouse walls.
"Tomorrow at noon, the transaction will begin on time," Diez Barrels's voice was low and hoarse, his eyes glinting with greed in the dim light. "The World Government's request is that the Op-Op Fruit must not fall into the hands of pirates."
In the shadows, another person licked his chapped lips and sneered, "Doflamingo's ship is already approaching the North Blue... Do you think the Marines can really stop him?"
In the snow, a pair of black leather boots stepped through the thick snow, leaving deep footprints. Rosinante, who had arrived on the island in advance, the "Corazon" of the Donquixote Family, code-named "Corazon." At this moment, the muzzle of his pistol was still smoking. Several unconscious guards lay at the door, the firelight reflecting on his determined face.
"Law, stay close to me." He looked back at the thin boy wrapped in a blanket, his golden pupils shining in the darkness, the cracks of Amber Lead Syndrome covering his face.
"Mr. Cora... where are we going?"
A hint of determination flashed in Rosinante's blue eyes. "To steal something that can save your life."
The North Blue's cold wind whipped up snow, beating against the outside of the abandoned warehouse on Minion Island. Rosinante pulled his hat down low, his black coat blending in with the night. He looked back at Law, who was hiding in the shadows. The boy's pale face was covered in the spots of Amber Lead Syndrome, which had spread to his neck, looking particularly striking in the moonlight.
"I have to get the Op-Op Fruit quickly..." He took a deep breath, and the power of his Calm-Calm Fruit silently spread, swallowing the sound of the falling snowflakes.
Diez Barrels's pirate crew was inside the warehouse, counting their goods. The metal box containing the Op-Op Fruit was on a wooden table in the center, surrounded by several armed pirates. Rosinante narrowed his eyes, took out a Molotov cocktail from his coat, lit it, and gently rolled it into a corner of the warehouse.
"BOOM—!"
Flames shot up instantly. The pirates shouted in panic, "Fire! Put it out!" However, their voices were completely isolated by the power of the Calm-Calm Fruit, and it was still dead silent outside the warehouse.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Rosinante snuck in like a ghost, his fingers touching the cold metal box. "Got it!"
Just as he turned to leave, he stepped on a patch of oil—"BANG!"—and fell heavily to the ground. The metal box flew from his hand and landed on the floor with a dull thud.
"Who's there?!" The pirates instantly reacted, their swords and guns all aimed at him.
"Tsk...!" Rosinante gritted his teeth, quickly rolling to dodge the first wave of bullets while drawing his gun to counterattack. "Bang, bang, bang!" His precise shots instantly took down several pirates, but several more were still approaching. A long sword came slashing down fiercely. Rosinante dodged to the side but was still cut on the back, the blood soaking his coat.
"Damn it...!" He gritted his teeth against the pain, grabbed the Op-Op Fruit, and crashed through the window.
The biting cold wind was like a knife cutting through his ears. The world was a blanket of white, and the bloodstains on the snow spread out like crimson cracks. The North Blue's blizzard swallowed the outline of Minion Island. Rosinante staggered into an abandoned lighthouse, the sword wound on his back leaving a striking trail of blood on the wall.
"Mr. Cora!" Law rushed over and supported his swaying body, desperately trying to stop the bleeding.
Rosinante curved his lips into a smile, his face as pale as snow. "Don't worry..." He tremblingly took out the fruit with spiral patterns from his coat and stuffed it into Law's hands. "Quick, eat it..."
Law stared at the strange fruit in his hand. The white spots of Amber Lead Syndrome had already spread to his cheeks, and even breathing was a burning pain. He looked up at Rosinante, his voice hoarse. "Mr. Cora... this..."
"No nonsense!" Rosinante coughed violently, blood spilling from the corner of his mouth. "Do you want to die?!"
Law gritted his teeth and took a fierce bite. The bitterness of the fruit almost made him vomit, but the next second, a strange power exploded in his body, replaced by an unprecedented clarity. "This is...?" Law looked at his hands in shock.
Rosinante smiled weakly and ruffled his hair. "Now, you're free..."
"Take this... go to the Marine outpost, and give it to the person in the white uniform..." Rosinante took out a blood-stained intelligence file from his coat and stuffed it into Law's hands. "Remember... don't trust anyone, go directly to Sengoku..."
Law gripped the file tightly, large tears falling onto the snow. "Mr. Cora...!" Looking at Rosinante's determined eyes, he then nodded vigorously, gripped the file, and rushed into the snowstorm.
However, when he burst through the door of the Marine outpost, out of breath, the person who greeted him was not a Marine officer in a white uniform, but Vergo, a spy Doflamingo had placed in the G-5 Marine branch.
"Little boy, what's the matter, so late at night?" Vergo pushed up his glasses, his tall figure looming over Law.
Law looked at him warily, but Vergo's Marine uniform made him relax slightly. "This... Mr. Cora asked me to give it to the Marines..."
Vergo took the file, his gaze sweeping over the blood seal on the envelope, a strange glint in his eyes. He slowly opened the file, and the moment he saw the contents, his pupils constricted suddenly. The Donquixote Family's troop distribution map, and the Marine undercover's operational instructions, were signed with the name "Corazon."
"Heh..." A cold smile appeared on Vergo's lips. "So that's how it is..."
When Law appeared outside the lighthouse with the Marine-uniformed Vergo, Rosinante's heart almost stopped.
"What a surprise, Corazon..." Vergo's voice was ice-cold. "Ten years, and I never realized you were a talking spy."
Rosinante's throat tightened, but he still had that goofy smile on his face. "Mr. Vergo... what are you talking about?"
"Playing dumb?" Vergo slammed a fist into Rosinante's abdomen, sending him flying. "BANG!" Rosinante crashed through a wooden box, blood spraying from his mouth.
Vergo strode forward, grabbed him by the collar, and lifted him up. "The Marines' little Corazon... how ironic." Vergo's Armament-hardened fist fell again. "What do you think Doffy's expression will be when he finds out his own brother is a Marine?"
Rosinante coughed up blood but suddenly laughed. "Heh... he already knew..."
Vergo was taken aback, but the next second, Law's angry roar came from behind him—
"Let go of Mr. Cora!!!"
A pale blue spherical space suddenly expanded. Law's "ROOM" enveloped the entire lighthouse. Vergo spun around and saw Law's palm aimed at him—
"Shambles!"
"Swish!"
A spatial replacement! Vergo was forcibly moved outside the lighthouse in a moment of surprise, while Rosinante was pulled to Law's side.
"Go... hurry..." Rosinante gasped weakly, his blood staining Law's sleeve.
Law gritted his teeth, carried Rosinante on his back, and rushed into the blizzard. Vergo's angry roar came from behind them but was quickly swallowed by the snowstorm.
Law carried Rosinante, stumbling through the snow. The cold wind was like a knife, but his heart was beating fast. The power of the Op-Op Fruit flowed through his body, and the man on his back was his only family.
"Law..." Rosinante's voice was weak. "I'm sorry... for getting you involved in this..."
Law's tears fell onto the snow, instantly freezing. "Shut up! You promised me you'd take me to sea..."
Rosinante smiled, his blood-stained fingers gently patting Law's shoulder. "Yeah... I haven't done that yet..."
In the snowstorm, the two figures gradually disappeared at the edge of Minion Island. And in the distance, the flag of the Donquixote Family fluttered in the wind, as if declaring that this betrayal was far from over.
