Chapter 15 – Truth Carved in Blood

The world held its breath.

At the peak of Lune’s Eye, the gateway hovered—still open, still pulsing—silver light arcing between mirrored runes. It hummed with infinite potential.

And infinite cost.

Seph and Leo stood before it, hands still clasped, the soul-bond vibrating at its peak. Behind them, the battlefield lay stunned in silence.

Selene knelt at the crater’s edge, gasping, her robes in tatters, her illusions shattered.

"You can’t leave it open," she rasped. "The energy will collapse. You’ll kill everyone.”

Seph turned. “You knew that.”

Selene looked up, hate warring with fear. “Of course. It was the only way to control them. Keep the packs dependent on the priesthood.”

“You built your prophecy on fear,” Leo said coldly. “But the truth was always different, wasn’t it?”

Selene laughed, bitter and cracked. “The prophecy never demanded destruction. But who would follow a savior who simply asks to be *shared*?”

Seph stepped closer. “Then say it. Say the truth.”
