Chapter 14 – Lunar Tides Rising

Lune’s Eye screamed.

Above the crater, the soul gate pulsed with tidal hunger—its surface no longer a swirling shadow but a mirror of light and memory. It reflected every soul it touched, every secret, every fear.

Around it, ten thousand wolves clashed.

Coalition rebels surged up the slopes, crashing against Selene’s zealots in a storm of claws and steel. Cormac led the front charge, eyes burning, blade swinging in wide, desperate arcs.

“Hold the line!” he roared. “Protect the gate!”

But even he knew—they were buying time, not winning.

At the center, Seph and Leo stood on the obelisk base, hands linked, breath shallow.

The gate had accepted their bond.

And now it wanted their essence.

Seph gasped as light tore down her spine. “It’s feeding again—”

Leo grunted. “Then we give it just enough. No more.”

Below, Ravik fought through a line of enforcers and screamed up toward them, “If it overbinds, it’ll pull every soul nearby into collapse! You must stabilize it!”
