At 59 years old, John Leben had only one passion left in life: playing Alfiria Saga, a fantasy MMORPG he had devoted 25 years of his life to.



After resigning from his job in his mid-thirties and living alone ever since, John found comfort and meaning in the world of Alfiria — even as its player base slowly faded over the years.



Now, with Alfiria Saga about to shut down for good, John receives one final message from the developers: a mysterious reward for being the game’s last active player.



Expecting maybe a figure, some old merchandise, or a sentimental farewell, he accepts it without hesitation.

He wakes up inside the game itself — younger, stronger, and completely naked in the middle of a dangerous forest.

Author's Note:



Alfiria Saga was born in 2020 — a Filipino-written fantasy that I poured my heart into. But back then, I was bullied. They said it was weird, childish. I stopped writing.



Years passed. Then came The Great Shift — when anime and light novels were finally embraced. I came back.



This is the rewritten, English version of that story. A second chance not just for the world of Alfiria, but for me.
