chapter 8 :you're too good at this kang Taewon

(Han mention)

"Does it really take you this long to get ready? Your face is the same every day."

Mrs. Han's sharp tone echoed through the house as she fixed Jihyun's wrinkled collar for the third time that morning.

Jihyun yawned in reply. "I don't see how this is my problem when you're the one forcing me."

Mr. Han was already dressed in his usual neat suit, checking the time as Minjoon stood beside him, calm as ever.

"We're heading to the office," Mr. Han said"Behave yourself today. No incidents.here my card .buy whatever you want "

Jihyun waved lazily and took the card without looking up. "Sure, sure."

"Mr han said once last time I don't want any incident note it"

As they left, Jihyun lazily rolled his eyes. "Everyone talks like I'm a walking disaster."

"You are," Mrs. Han replied without missing a beat.

Before Jihyun could retort, the doorbell rang. The Kang family had arrived.

Mrs. Kang was warm as always. "Ah, Jihyun, you look even prettier in person."

"Thanks… I guess." His tone lacked spirit, but Mrs. Kang only smiled as if he were an amusing child.

Taewon stood quietly next to yumi, his gaze calm as always. He didn't speak much, simply nodded in polite greeting.

"Shall we go?" Mrs. Kang linked arms with Mrs. Han as if they were already family.

(Shopping mall )

The boutique was filled with soft lighting and racks of elegant suits and dresses.

"You should try this one. Ah, and this one too. This fabric will suit your skin tone so well."

Mrs. Kang hovered like a doting aunt, selecting outfits for Jihyun with a kind of excitement that felt almost genuine.

"I'm not a doll," Jihyun mumbled, pulling at the stiff fabric of the first suit.

"You're engaged to my son. You're my precious child now, too."

Taewon appeared beside him, holding another jacket.

"This one. It's softer inside. More comfortable."

Jihyun blinked. "did ,he noticed that?"

"You looked uncomfortable."Taewon said.

"Oh."

He let Taewon adjust the collar, fingers brushing briefly against his neck, sending an unexpected shiver down his spine.

"You really don't have to"

"I want to."

Their eyes met. Taewon's smile was faint but warm, like sunlight through a window.

For some reason, Jihyun's heart thudded awkwardly.

"Fine. But I'm making you change 1000 times for revenge."

"As you wish."

( selecting dress for Taewon)

Taewon didn't complain. He changed suit after suit as Jihyun sat there trying not to stare. Every style suited him sharp lines, soft fabrics, dark colors, light tones. Handsome in a way that made Jihyun's stomach flip for reasons he didn't want to explore.

(Selection for Jihyun)

When it was finally Jihyun's turn, Taewon stood patiently, fixing his cuffs, smoothing a wrinkle on his sleeve with quiet care.

"You look good in this one," Taewon said simply.

Jihyun tried to play it cool. "Of course I do."

Mrs. Han watched from a distance, hiding a small smile. "At least someone can handle him."

( during lunch)

Jihyun picked at his dessert with the same sulky face, though his heart wasn't quite as heavy as this morning.

"You ordered sweets again dear?" Mrs. Han sighed.

"I'm stressed. I need sugar ,mom."

Mrs. Kang chuckled. "Let him be. Planning weddings is exhausting for omegas."

Taewon gently pushed a glass of water toward Jihyun. "Drink. You've had too much sugar already."

"You sound like an old man."

"I don't want you feeling sick later."

"I'm not that weak."

Taewon didn't argue. He simply let Jihyun eat whatever he wanted.

( in the ring shop)

"Something eye-catching?" the clerk asked.

"No," Taewon said first. "Something comfortable. Something he'll wear without complaint."

Jihyun frowned. "Why are you deciding for me again?"

Taewon glanced at him with a soft smile. "Then pick it yourself. I'll wear whatever matches you."

"Huh?"

Jihyun didn't expect that. Not from a Kang. After how much he irritated him .

"I want people to see us and know we belong together," Taewon said so easily, like it was obvious.

"You're too good at this fiancé thing."

"You're too bad at accepting kindness."

Mrs. Kang laughed. "They're so cute omo"

Eventually, Jihyun chose something simple but elegant. Not too flashy. A soft band with a subtle shine. When Taewon slipped it on his finger for sizing, Jihyun felt heat crawl up his neck.

"This is fine, right?" Taewon asked.

"Yeah."

For a second, Jihyun forgot to sulk. His heart felt weirdly light.

( Dinner time)

Mr kang ,mr han Minjoon joined them for dinner. The conversation hovered around the wedding.

"Saturday. It's all arranged. Close friends, business partners. No unnecessary fuss," Mr. Han confirmed.

Mrs. Han nodded. "Tomorrow, shopping again for final touches. I'll accompany them."

"Afterward, let them spend time together. They need to understand each other's habits," Mrs. Kang suggested.

Taewon gave a small nod. "I'll take care of him."

Jihyun groaned dramatically. "Like I'm a houseplant or something."

"You need care, too," Taewon replied.

Minjoon whispered. "See? You're in good hands."

"Good hands, sure. Prison walls, definitely."

Still, when dessert came, Jihyun ordered without hesitation. This time, Taewon didn't stop him.

"Eat whatever makes you happy."

Why does he keep saying things that make my heart do this? Jihyun wondered, glaring at his cake as if it were to be blame.
