I got my first subordinate, first law and finally stepped outside the mansion for the first time, what a lucky day.
If she hadn't taken those two gold coins it would've been even luckier.
Now the real issue is where the helI do I put aurora? Someday I'll ditch this family and when that happens, I'll need power, money, base, network, army and authority and obviously a cool throne to live out various Isekai fantasies and events.
I used to think I could just hand things off to my subordinates while I chilled in the mansion, but judging by Aurora… I might need a Plan B. Or C.
"Arthur! Arthur! Arthur!" Aurora called.
"Hah! What, sorry I was just lost in thought."
"You have already started thinking about our future strategies, as expected." Aurora said.
"Huh!" What strategies, what is this elf saying.
"You are going to make your territory big and great and be its greatest and strongest ruler the land has ever known, right?." Aurora said.
"Huh!" What the hell this elf was babbling about she just went on and decided herself that I became the greatest ruler of this land. "Of course, Yes! Yes, that was totally my plan."
We are standing on the roof gazing over the city.
"Let's go home, we have to decide on a future project and our future strategies for the future of this land, let's go." Aurora said.
I start walking behind her, staring at her back. Why is she acting like she's the main character, Wait! Suddenly a brilliant idea comes to my mind. What if I became the state's next head and then make my subordinates run the entire state for me while I travel the world without worrying about the budget.
Then money will no longer be a problem for me either, as I just have to raise taxes on my subjects and use that to fund my journey, genius! Absolute genius! Let's go with this.
Meanwhile aurora looked at Arthur and smiled gently as he grin like a maniac.
"How passionate he is…. Even out in the middle of nowhere, he must be thinking about the people… their future…. Their happiness…." Aurora talks in her mind.
After that we both went home jumping on the buildings in the way I asked her several questions.
First: She isn't from this province. Her village was burned by humans and she was sold off to a creepy noble but instead of giving up she killed the noble, pulled out a jail break and freed a bunch of elves slaves on the way out who were enslaved by nobles.
Second: She attacked me not out of vengeance or justice but to earn some money to feed her belly and get some food back to the other elf slave who she freed.
Freeing slaves is a big crime in the human province. If she gets caught she will probably get executed and even, I possibly faced punishment for hiding her under my wings.
So I asked her not to free anymore slaves again in exchange I'll help her buy some elf back and she agrees.
I decided to visit her secret base another day myself to look for any potential recruit.
"Are you ok?" the other maid asked, peering through the cell bars at Rine currently locked in a cell.
"Yeah! I am ok, once the young master returns, I know he will rush to me like a knight and free me from this cell." Rine said.
"Why do you think that?" the other maid asked.
"I raise him like my own child even though I was not his true mother, but still I raise him like a son, I cook him food, teach him manners, tell him stories when he is not able to sleep" Rine said.
"Sorry to say that, but the young master has already returned." the other maid said.
"Huh! What! Do you tell him I'm here" Rine asked, leaning forward gripping the bar.
"Yes," the other maid replied.
"So,what did he say?" Rine asked with sparkling eyes..
"Young master says I am too sleepy right now, let's talk tomorrow, then he goes to sleep." Another maid said.
Rine stared at her in silence, then slowly…. Slowly move backward and start laughing.
"Ha.. Haha haha of course he just tried. That's all,a long day of doing absolutely nothing…. That my boy… right? right?" Rine starts laughing like a psychopath.
"Are you alright, do you need a doctor?" the other maid asked.
"I need a young master," Rine said.
"Wait I'll go get the young master" The other maid with an awkward smile ran away.
In my mother's room, my mother lily was sitting on the sofa enjoying her tea.
Nanny, Do you investigate the elf Arthur bought." Lily asked.
"Yes, my lady But I wasn't able to find anything about her. I think she is not from this province." her maid nanny replied.
Lily's eyes narrowed as she asked "Is there any possibility that she can be a spy sent by another noble."
"It's can be possible, my lady," the nanny replied.
"Keep an eye on her" Lily commands the nanny.
"Yes, my lady as you wish." nanny said as she bowed.
"What happened my lady, you don't seem in a good mood, Is it because of the elf" nanny asked.
"No, Arthur is my only child that receives so little love, care and attention from me, I showed love, care, play and raise all my other children. but unable to raise him with the same love I showed my other childrens." Lily said.
"Please Don't blame yourself my lady, You loved lord Arthur and I'm sure he probably understands that" Nanny comforts lily.
"I wanted to spoil him, raise him in my hand's close to me, but, because of the state's poor condition I have my hands full, I was so busy these past five-six years that I paid little attention to that child's growth" Lily said.
"It can't be helped, my lady." Nanny said.
"I may be passed as a noble, but failed as a mother, thank you for comforting me nanny." Lily said.
"Ahh! right where is Rine Arthur maid? "Lily asked.
"She was locked inside the cell," Nanny replied.
"Free her" lily command.
"But my lady, she lost lord Arthur in the way" nanny said.
"Everyone makes mistakes, free her, but make sure to teach her, there is no second time" Lily said.
"Yes, my lady," Nanny said.
