Unlocking & Progression Mechanics
Skills are unlocked through a combination of gaining experience, demonstrating proficiency in specific arts, and advancing through critical story moments.
Skill Points (SP): The MC gains 2 SP per level. These are the primary currency used to purchase skills in Tiers I and II.
Proficiency: To unlock skills in a specific path (e.g., The Infiltrator), the MC must first demonstrate proficiency by repeatedly performing actions related to that path. The System will track these actions. For example, performing stealth takedowns contributes to Ghost proficiency, while parrying attacks contributes to Fang proficiency.
Path Commitment: Once the MC invests in a Path (e.g., Path A: The Infiltrator), they must unlock all skills in that path before they are allowed to start purchasing skills from the other path in that same tier (e.g., Path B: The Predator).
Capstone Quests: Tier III Capstones are not simply purchased. Once the prerequisites are met, the System will issue a unique, challenging quest. Completing this quest demonstrates true mastery and unlocks the capstone ability.
Awakenings: The Dragon & Wolf branch is entirely story-driven. Its tiers unlock automatically at pivotal moments in the MC's journey of self-discovery, often triggered by immense stress, mortal danger, or the discovery of ancient artifacts related to their heritage.
