System Sheet

SYSTEM SHEET: "THE METHOD ENGINE"

The deeper he dives into the character, the more it pulls something from him.And the more it gives back... something else.

🔹 NAME: The Method Engine

🧠 SYSTEM OVERVIEW

The Method Engine allows Marcus to embody fictional roles at a depth unmatched by any actor. But this is not method acting. This is transfiguration.

🧬 CHARACTER INTEGRATION (IMMERSION PERCENTAGE)

Each time Marcus takes on a role, he doesn't "act." He becomes.

The system measures his transformation into the character by IMMERSION PERCENTAGE:

Immersion LevelDescriptionEffect0–25%SurfaceHe reads lines, adopts posture and mannerisms. Gains light muscle memory or vocal cues.26–50%EntryGains character instincts. Mannerisms, accents, thought patterns subtly replace his own.51–75%FusionCannot distinguish between his thoughts and the character's. Begins to act impulsively in-role even off set.76–99%Total SyncLoses awareness of Marcus entirely. Fully submerged in role, hallucinations possible. System grants physical & mental adaptations (skills, reflexes).100%System OverrideTrue possession. Marcus ceases to exist temporarily. The character is in full control. Dangerous. Often used only once per role, typically in major scenes.

☣️ RESIDUE SYSTEM

After each role is wiped, residue remains — traits and impulses that stain Marcus's "blank soul."

The more intense or dark the role, the more dangerous the residue.

Joker Residue: Sadistic humor, nihilism, need to provoke. Laughs at trauma. Will occasionally speak in cryptic riddles or unsettling monologues, even in unrelated scenes.

Jack Sparrow Residue: Fluid morality, erratic genius, flamboyant self-sabotage. Slurred truths, unpredictable body language. Seduction mixed with avoidance.

Sherlock Holmes (Coming): Hyper-analysis, obsessive pattern recognition, withdrawal from emotional connection, drug cravings if not grounded.

Residue cannot be removed. It builds with each character, and begins to merge, clash, or infect future roles.

🕳️ CHARACTER PURGE / MEMORY WIPE

Once a role is complete, the system purges the character:

Removes all direct memories of filming and experiences as that persona.

However, residue remains, and in deep cases, skills and reflexes may persist (e.g. Joker's knifeplay, Jack's sailing instincts).

Side effect: Memory loss extends to Marcus himself. The more roles he plays, the harder it is to remember who he was.

🧩 BLANK SOUL THEORY (User Conjecture)

Marcus theorizes his system only works because his soul was erased (memory wipe) — wiped before his awakening. Thus, each character leaves a permanent scar on an otherwise empty slate.

He doesn't perform characters. He is a mosaic made from them.No soul. Just shrapnel stitched together with fame.

📈 SYSTEM GROWTH / SKILL RETENTION

Skills or traits may permanently linger based on:

Depth of immersion

Emotional intensity of scenes performed

Audience impact and acclaim

Whether the breakdown during wipe failed (rare)

Examples:

Joker left behind unmatched improvisational menace and charismatic manipulation.

Jack Sparrow left him instinctive seafaring aptitude and chaos-based social tactics.

🎁 SYSTEM REWARDS

Though rarely acknowledged in-system, Marcus receives rewards for exceptional performances, tied to public acclaim or internal mastery.

Examples:

Vehicle or Property gifted by studios

Residual Physical Skills (combat, fencing, piano)

Passive Social Talents (seduction, persuasion, menace)

Script Absorption – Ability to recall any scene or dialogue from a completed role

🚨 RISKS & SIDE EFFECTS

Identity Bleed: Character traits trigger mid-conversation or mid-romance. Distorts real relationships.

Mental Fragmentation: Marcus begins switching involuntarily between characters.

Emotional Echoes: Certain situations trigger character-specific PTSD or nostalgia.

Self-Deletion Risk: As residue compounds, Marcus wonders if he still exists — or if the system is building something else.
