Rival "Ascendants"—other Earthlings with their own unique legacies and ambitions—vie for dominance, and ancient, monstrous threats stir in the depths of this shattered world. Alex, a strategist by nature, must adapt, build, fight, and perhaps even forge alliances in a world where only the strongest, and most cunning, can hope to survive and ultimately ascend.
