Chapter 6

I was crying constantly.

I regretted meeting Logan, regretted letting all of this happen. I regretted even more that I had a huge fight with my father right before I died.

All because he urged me to break up with this dangerous man.

My parents would never hurt me. The one who hurt me was myself.

Watching the stooped figures of my parents as they left, my heart filled with a bitter hatred. I hated Logan and Marco, but I hated myself more.

As for Logan, he just closed the door. He thought for a moment, his brow furrowed. Finally, he called my number.

The call didn't connect.

"Jasmine, can you stop with your damn temper tantrums? Your parents are old, and you're making them worry! Do you have any conscience at all?" He sent the voice message to my voicemail.

After hanging up, he returned to the family's base. The moment he walked in, he ran into Luca.

Luca reported that the men watching Marco's safe house said he still hadn't returned.
