Cassian Veyr knows his father only as the village's quiet, steady chief not as the man once feared across all kingdoms as the Shadow Sovereign. In secret, Cassian trains with Azhur, a mysterious half-lion being he trusts more than almost anyone alive. His father has forbidden him from going anywhere near Azhur. Cassian doesn't listen.
When the yearly Hunter Selection begins, Cassian and his closest friends, Zayd and Aurelia, finally get their chance to prove themselves. But deep in the northern woods, something far worse than a test is waiting: a monstrous boar, a stranger who leaves the bodies of other candidates behind like trophies and, rising on the horizon, the first smoke of a village on fire.
In a single day, Cassian loses everything. His friends are taken. His teacher becomes the deepest betrayal of his life. And his father dies in his arms, cut down by eyes that glow a cold, sickly green someone come to collect on a past his father thought he'd buried for good.
Three months later, Cassian is alone in the western woods starved, changed, his eyes barely those of the boy he used to be. When two strangers finally find him, he carries only one thing with him now, colder and clearer than any grief:
He will find Azhur, Green eye and every rebel. And he will end them whatever it costs.
Really enjoying this so far. Kael’s journey is interesting and I like how the story mixes his personal goals with the bigger mystery around his father and the rebellion. Feels
needs alot of improvement and too much interactions reduce it ,pacing is gud and it kinda has potential ,but it needs to more interesting, to make others read urs, make it unquie
Honestly, the chapters are great and the plot is getting interesting, especially Moros's past and the battle with the boar. Zayd was excellent, and Kyle's appearance with the fire was awesome, but Aurelia needs a bit more screen time. Overall, the story is progressing well and I'm eager to see what happens next.
This started pretty simple but got dark way faster than I expected. Kael, Zayd and Aurelia have a fun dynamic, and the hunter test was probably my favorite part until everything completely fell apart in chapter 7. Azhur especially became way more interesting once the truth started coming out. Definitely recommend it if you like weak-to-strong fantasy with elemental powers, betrayals and a darker turn underneath the adventure.
I've read it without any breakes, the story was just amazing and it's getting better and better. Anyone who's interested in fantasy stuff should 100% give it a try. I'm hyped for the next chapters!!!!!
I haven‘t read a novel this good ina long time woww!
It’s only just started but this story is really amazing ✌️
This book is standing with a unique concept and the carecter building are so natural. I specially recommended this book. keep it up. 😇
The recent chapters are absolutely thrilling! The mentor's dark betrayal is a gut-wrenching twist, and seeing the protagonist finally unleash those mysterious spiral eyes to fight back is incredibly epic. The desperate chase sequence through the burning village had me completely on the edge of my seat. The world-building keeps getting darker, and the emotional stakes are so high right now with his friends captured. That cliffhanger with the familiar figure stepping in to save him at the last second is absolutely perfect—I can't wait for the next update!
I am intrigued of what will this story become. I love how the characters struggle and it feels real. Feed us more chapters Author💙
