Ares had already accepted that he had been reincarnated.



Realizing where he had been reincarnated was considerably more worrying.



Abandoned as a baby at an isolated mountain temple in the small Lapet Republic, Ares grows up surrounded by monks, and by something no ordinary child should be able to see.



Aura.



Even before being awakened to Nen, he can see it flowing around the monks like a second skin.



Then he notices something else.



Some of the people who climb the mountain seeking the temple's help are surrounded by a different kind of aura.



Black. Twisted. Sometimes shaped like hands, faces, or shadows clinging to their bodies.

When Grand Master Shen finally reveals Nen to him, Ares asks the question that has bothered him for years.



"What is the black aura?"



For the first time, the old master stops smiling.



The Temple of the Silent Bell was not built merely as a place of worship.



For more than four hundred years, its monks have dealt with the things left behind when death fails to extinguish Nen, curses, hauntings, spirits, and the lingering wills of the dead.



And somehow, Ares can see them without even knowing Gyo.



Only five monks in the entire temple possess the talent necessary to become true Nen exorcists.



Whether Ares will become the sixth remains to be seen.



For now, he is only a child with memories of another world, knowledge of a future that may still be years away, and absolutely no intention of chasing after the protagonists of the story he once read.



He intends to live his second life however he wants.



Unfortunately, in the world of Hunter × Hunter, even the dead have plans of their own.
