Promising Future

The enemy in front of Moxinke had been severely wounded, and the fight would be ended as long Moxinke kept up his attacks for a bit longer. But seeing that Han Jin was in danger, he didn't have the mood to deal with this enemy anymore. With a roar, he rushed towards the leader of the knights.

Sunier had also changed her target to the leader. However, she moved much slower, as if she had nearly run out of energy. The bow in her hands was drawn in an increasingly slow manner, and numerous tiny cracks started to appear on the green jade ring on her index finger. Meanwhile, the air around her had also started to become mysteriously heavy and leaden.

The leader of the knights was going to rush towards Han Jin and finish him off, but he gave up his plan suddenly and instead turned around to stare at Sunier. With his sword across the front of his chest, he simply stared with a solemn expression.

Moxinke steadied himself before he got close to the leader with a wide stride. Raising the giant sword above his head, he slammed it down towards the leader's head with all his strength.

The leader just gave a grim smile. He didn't care about Moxinke, a mere swordsman, at all. Only the archer in front of him gave him the slightest sense of threat.

"Technique of fighting..." Moxinke roared, "The River of Stars!"

The leader raised his hand and struck with his sword. The radiance of the sword was about two meters long and immediately went forward towards Moxinke's chest. Moxinke's roar could only fool an inexperienced nonprofessional. As a fighter, the leader of the knights could easily tell whether his opponent could release a fighting technique or not, even with his eyes closed.

Moxinke moved his giant sword in a rush to block the attack. Successive sounds of explosions echoed in midair when the edge of Moxinke's sword collided with the sword's radiance. His body trembled along with the explosions.

At this moment, a black arrow passed by him silently and shot straight towards the leader of the knights. After a cold snort, he swept his sword's radiance horizontally to block the incoming arrow.

With a loud boom, the arrow was minced into pieces by the radiance. The leader also staggered back seven or eight steps before he finally steadied himself.

Suddenly, rays of golden light glowed on the ground and turned into a vortex of sand. This time, the leader's expression finally changed. He struggled to move his legs and tried to get out of the vortex. Each time he pulled out one of his legs, the other one would just sink in deeper. No matter how hard he struggled to get out, all he achieved was stirring up the sand and causing waves of sand to ripple out, while his speed was reduced to a crawl.

A fifth-grade magic spell had cost Cessacioun lots of energy, but he still managed to keep up his spirit. He quickly started to incant another spell.

Magic was always the decisive factor in both skirmishes and large-scale battles, that's also why Sunier demanded that the enemy magician be eliminated first.

Moxinke grinned. If it wasn't for the fear of losing his sword to the sand vortex, he would have thrown it out to strike the leader of the knights. Unlike Moxinke, Sunier had no such worry. She started to shoot arrows one after another at the trapped leader.

No one would simply wait to be killed under a critical situation, and the leader was no different. He let out a loud roar and frantically swung his sword around to deflect the incoming arrows.

The Art of Cobweb! Cessacioun had released yet another fifth-grade magic spell, which slowed down the speed of the leader's struggle immediately. By now, his legs were completely submerged in the sand.

"Aggghhh…" he shouted wretchedly. Desperation had caused him to panic completely. He threw away his sword and started to flail his arms around aimlessly.

The jade ring on Sunier's index finger finally shattered, but at the same time, she had released her last arrow. It covered dozens of meters at an extremely fast speed and buried itself into the chest of the leader of the knights.

The body of the leader stiffened as he was promptly swallowed by the vortex of quicksand. Han Jin had finally regained some strength. He stood up with difficulty and looked at Cessacioun with his eyes flickering. Undoubtedly, the contribution that Cessacioun had made in this fight was irreplaceable. Magic was always the key to success. Han Jin knew clearly that his ambush only succeeded because his enemies were not prepared, and if it weren't for Cessacioun's spells that accelerated his escape, he likely wouldn't have survived the attacks from the leader of the knights.

Learn some magic? An idea flashed through Han Jin's head while he blinked his eyes. Just then, a low moan drew everyone's attention. The battle was finished too quickly, and everyone only focused on beating down their opponents. No one checked to make sure if they finished off their targets. The one moaning right now happened to be one of the severely wounded knights.

Han Jin turned around and picked up a sword from the ground. The knight sensed that someone was approaching and begged for mercy with his eyes, but Han Jin didn't even look at him as he swung down his sword. Blood spattered out from the knight's neck. Even if he survived the attack, he wouldn't have been able to talk.

Then, Han Jin walked around the battlefield and stabbed every one of the knights to make sure they were dead. He moved so leisurely people that could mistake him for a noble on vacation swinging his fans.

"Moxinke, you said... he had never been out of Radon Town?" Sunier asked in a low voice.

"Yes."

She cast a glance at Moxinke and didn't want to speak to him anymore. This big, dumb fellow didn't understand what she had meant at all!

While they were still looking, Han Jin had begun his favorite task, namely collecting the loot of their battle. He even ordered Steelberg to help him. Sunier walked up to him slowly and asked, "My dear prophet, what shall we do next?"

"There's a mountain over there, we can hide in it. It would be impossible for anyone to find us." Han Jin hesitated for a while and then shouted, "What are you people looking at? Piss off!"

The villagers were frozen in fear already, and they didn't dare move a single step until Han Jin shouted at them. They rushed back into the village in a flurry.

"So we will not go to the West City? What about Miss Keeley?" Moxinke asked.

"If you go catch up and kill every single one of those villagers, we will go to the West City," Han Jin said coldly with his finger pointing towards the running villagers.

Moxinke scratched his head with embarrassment. He wouldn't hesitate to kill any of his enemies who insulted or hurt him, but there was no way he could bring himself to raise his sword against those innocent villagers.

"Actually... there's no need for us to go to the West City at all for now. They know that I'm here, yet still... Anyway, it would be pointless for us to go," Miss Keeley said hesitantly with a pale face. She had never seen such a bloody scene before. Truth be told, it was a wonder she didn't start to vomit on the spot.

The amount of loot Han Jin gathered from their fallen enemies exceeded everyone's expectations. With all the currencies combined, they collected roughly seventy golden coins. Cessacioun got his own magic wand for the first time in his life, which caused his face turned bright red from excitement. Various kinds of magic crystals were arranged on the ground, nearly twenty of them. Most were fourth and fifth grade, and the large ocean-blue magic crystal was right there among them. The joy of reclaiming something that was stolen made all of them particularly excited.

"What about the horses? Leave them here?" Sunier asked with her lips curled up.

The others laughed too. They had such a heavy eater among them, why waste food? Although horse meat were quite rough, it was still food.

"Perfect. Riding is faster anyway."

"Didn't you say that we are going to hide in the mountains? How can we ride them offroad?"

"No, we are going back to the Eleventh Town."

"Going back to do what?" Cessacioun asked in surprise.

"Since we decided to go down this path, we might as well finish things thoroughly." Han Jin smiled, "What about you, Michelle? Want to come with us? Or will you go alone?" He didn't like this timid guy at all, who just stood there like a fool while the others were fighting desperately.

"Do I still have a choice at this point?" Michelle smiled bitterly.

"Come with us," Cessacioun said. He had sensed the disdain in Han Jin's tone. Regardless, Michelle was still his friend, "You haven't told us what you meant by 'finish things thoroughly'?"

"You will find out soon enough." Han Jin looked at the magic crystals on the ground and laughed, "Don't you think there's a certain profession that seems to have a particularly promising future during a time like this?"
