Gao Yang and the others held their guns, watching as Teodulo and his men raised their weapons above their heads and gradually emerged from the three-story building.
Only twelve people remained. Holding an M16 rifle among the crowd, Teodulo put his gun down on the ground, then walked to the side with raised hands. At that point, all he desired was to slip through unnoticed and survive; he had no other thoughts.
Teodulo's wish was indeed beautiful, but unfortunately, Gao Yang and his team specifically targeted him, and Teodulo's distinctiveness made blending in an impossibility.
When Gao Yang saw Teodulo's face, his heart blossomed with joy. He had not feared that Teodulo had been killed in the previous battle; his worry was that Teodulo might be buried under the rubble or disfigured beyond recognition. Now that Teodulo had surrendered alive, that saved them a great deal of trouble.
