Legends and Stories

After coming out of the forest with dry wood and a dead rabbit, Adam was spotted by Eliezer.

Eliezer looked at him silently for a few seconds.

'Hmm, did I forget something, did he smell it, if he did I could use the rabbit as an excuse but I don't think he even going to ask, I mean even if he noticed something out of place it wouldn't be like bad, right?'

Questioning himself Adam concluded that he had nothing to worry about, but still, he was rather nervous from Eliezers stare.

"Did ya fall into a lake?" Eliezer laughed out, seeing Adam embarrassedly scratch his head his laughter grew even louder.

"Anyway I managed to catch a rabbit on the way, do you know how to cook it?"

"Sure, rabbit stew is my favorite, didn't have it since long!"

"Great, I'll prepare the campfire and you can prepare the stew," Adam said to which Eliezer nodded.

After having a sumptuous meal, they both slept until the sun rose again.

On the way to Oblisey Eliezer also talked about to legend of the city.

The legend says that the City of Oblisey was built in ancient times and the first governors were two siblings, a boy, and a girl: Hignian and Jinriah.

They led the city to prosperity by charming the neighboring country's King, who was Herleve Ebeta III at the time, with Jinriah's beauty and receiving many benefits, although the neighbor king wanted to have Jinriah this empire's ruler, Reeve Mawt IV, prevented that and kept her save.

Mad with rage Herleve Ebeta III declared war on this country and his first move was to attack Oblisey since it was also close to the border, but through Hignian's courage and leading abilities the city could prevail against the army and reinforcements soon arrived.

Being victorious Jinriah distanced herself from Herleve and the siblings declared their love for each other. Having gotten a reason Reeve Mawt IV hanged them both and gave the flourishing city to one of his sons.

Hearing this story, it reminded Adam of the story of Romulus and Remus and the legend of Rome's origins.

'But it was clearly rather different. If people here were to publish stories and legends from this land in my previous world there would be many interested readers.'

"That's a very unique story there," Adam spoke out his thoughts.

"Right, it is but there are many more interesting stories I could tell ya, it just seems like we don't have the time for dat."

"How come?"

"You see dat tower over there?"

"The old one?"

"Yea, dat is the one, it shows us that we're only two days away from Oblisey so we'll probably arrive the day after tomorrow."

"Time sure flies by fast huh."

After they traveled for another while, they could settle down again.

While Eliezer prepared the campsite, Adam went to find dry wood and to hunt for Soul Shards.

After the little hunting session, he had 40 Soul Shards and only needed 10 more to upgrade his flexibility.

This time he did not catch a rabbit but they managed to get something to eat either way, with Eliezer's experience as a traveler, it was not that difficult.

Sitting by the campfire, Adam remembered something; he took out a Soul Shard and asked Eliezer.

"Do you know what this is?"

"Hmm, where did you find dat?"

"When I was searching for dry wood it just laid there in the grass."

"Oh, I see, well you're quite a lucky lad, that thing sells for good money if you sell it to sects or cultivators, they can be found in wild animals and I heard that they're beneficial to those cultivators. This thing is the reason why many people aspire to be hunters; they can earn a lot of money selling that stuff."

"But there'll be a lot of competition, right?"

"Right, and do you know who benefits from all of this?"

"Probably the sects and cultivators."

"Exactly, we poor people get poorer and those rich, privileged people get richer and more privileged."

"Can't argue with that."

'Now I have some more Information about Soul Shards, but nothing solid sadly *sigh* well at least today was an interesting day.'
