Yin-Yang Serpent

`1 R/s! I see... so that's what it was.´ Chang Guan didn't know for sure, but he was confident he had seen through the crux of the problem.

Chang Guan entered the mind's room by calming himself to the point of extremity, clearing away all distractions, allowing himself to sink into his mind.

Chang Guan's calmness was directly proportionate to his R/s, which means, while his Rotation Intent could fight against Chang Guan's emotions, Chang Guan's emotions could also fight against the Rotation Intent.

Due to this, if he didn't feel at ease, he couldn't use the Rotation Intent to its full potential.

Knowing this, Chang Guan calmed down. He forced down the fear and anxiety. If Chang Guan's hypothesis was correct, this would allow him to enter his mind's room.

"..."

Nothing. Even after having calmed himself as much as possible, he was still unable to enter his mind's room.

"*Sigh* I give up..."

There was no point in wasting his time sitting around, so he decided to absorb Qi. Doing this was not like entering his mind's room as it could be done even without perfect concentration and calmness.

Since he was unable to enter his mind's room and cultivating was truly quite boring, Chang Guan played word link

"Ink, 91411, 16, 7, Bunnies"

Playing this game, time quickly passed and before long, he had finished absorbing energy and was thus ready to sleep.

Chang Guan unpacked his bed and unfurled it on the ground. He laid down, staring blankly at the ceiling of the cave.

Slowly, his eyes shut. He fell asleep.

At the foot of a mountain, a pair of knife-like eyes shone cruelly in the darkness. These eyes belonged not to a person, but a beast. A snake.

The snake had black and white stripes, and it slithered through trees, sneakily and stealthily. Then, the snake stopped. In the distance, it saw something. A cave.

*Hiissss*

The snake opened its mouth, revealing 2 large fangs with purple tips and a long forked tongue.

Suddenly, the snake's forehead ached. On top of this dangerous predator's head, was a scar. A knife wound had previously sat there but had been removed by the snake's formidable regeneration.

The snake moved once more. This time, even slower than previously. its eyes narrowed and displayed a hint of fury and cold, harmful intent.

As the snake approached the cave it saw something. It was a bed. On the bed laid a young man in his sleepwear.

Seeing this, the snake moved closer. It moved closer and closer until it was right by the bed. During the entire process, it had made no sounds.

The snake moved, but the moment it was about to land on the bed, a knife flew at it. Faced with this sight, the snake didn't even care and casually avoided it, moving even closer to the young man - within biting range.

*Swish!*

The snake, who at this point in time had opened its jaws fully, about to strike, tasted something. It tasted like... Blood.

Inside of the snake's mouth sat a knife. The snake seemed confused. It hadn't sensed this attack and was therefore caught totally off guard.

*Pssshhhh*

A light sound came from the man on the bed. He had gotten up. The snake felt danger coming from the man.

Fearing its own mortality, it turned around and tried to escape.

*Swish!*

Another knife was thrown. This knife was once more, easily dodged by the snake who was still slithering away at break-neck speeds.

*Kuk!*

Suddenly, the snake stopped dead in its tracks. It felt pain emanating from its tail. The snake turned back and looked at its tail. Gouged deeply inside of its tail was a throwing knife. This knife had not only penetrated the snake's hide, but also the ground underneath it. It couldn't move.

At this point, the snake was bewildered. It had clearly dodged both of the knives, so why was it hit by both of them?! It made no sense.

The snake was depressed. At this point, it had essentially given up at escaping. Its injuries weren't too severe, but it couldn't move.

A shadow crept up behind the snake. For the first time, the snake got a good look at the assailant. It was a young ma as previously stated. This man had very average looks, with a slightly buff body, square face, and somewhat large nose.

This man stared directly into the snake's eyes. The killing intent permeating from the man was enough to tell the snake that there was no hope for survival.

*Swish!*

From the man's body, 3 throwing knives flew out toward the snake. Although it was pinned to the ground, it was still able to slither to some degree, but the snake knew it didn't matter whether it dodged or not.

Faced with this sight, the snake merely closed its eyes and accepted its fate - death.

Back in the cave, Chang Guan, who had been sleeping, felt an aura approaching and woke up, instinctually attacking it. The enemy was the same snake he had met earlier, the Yin-Yang Serpent.

Fortunately, the snake was caught off guard by the first attack and easily put down by Chang Guan's Misdirect Knife Art.

Now, standing above the corpse of the snake, who looked like a hedgehog due to the 8 throwing knives sticking out of its body, he realized that this snake had to have had at least some form of intelligence.

It had remembered him from earlier, sneak attacked him while he was sleeping, ran away when in danger, and accepted death during its final moments.

After a moment of silence as a sign of respect towards the snake's abilities, he proceeded to remove the knives from the snake's corpse and stored both the knives and snake in his spatial ring.

After all, a snake like this couldn't possibly be normal and may be expensive.

After cleaning up after the snake, he returned to his bed and once more, fell asleep.
