Acing the Test

The soul contract. This brought upon many ideas to Brian. He was a clean slate, remember, or at least close to one, when he had eaten the rebirth pill. After the ingestion of this pill, he learnt to view this world as a child would, objectively. He did not know right and wrong, only the facts. And the fact was, as he had already known, power is everything.

When one achieves power, they can circumvent the rules of the world. They can force people to do anything. Of course, you will need a guarantee. Otherwise, cruelty will lead to rebels and then ultimately to revolution and then finally delivering the coup de gras with a coup d'etat.

Therefore, he needed at least a few perfectly loyal subjects. Emotions and opinions would change over time, so Brian knew that if he truly wanted to build a stable world, then Brian knew that this soul contract would play a vital role. A very vital role.

He personally had many ideas, but he needed to be patient. He would need to do some experiments and what better way than through the biggest institution in the world. I mean, no power this big would not have a dark side.

Of course, he kept these thoughts to himself. He didn't even tell this to Caesar. Because he knew Caesar wouldn't yet accept this. Not until he saw the inner workings of society as he did. He needed to keep this secret.

It was only after this thought that he noticed that Caesar had been speaking. He was talking of the other surprise that these two had heard. Daisuke had said that he was of the Amazing understanding for his skill, which they presumed was body enhancement purely from his body size, which truthfully had no relation whatsoever to what skill you would get.

Anyway, if Amazing was already the best, then what would Brian and Caesar be viewed as, freaks? This question constantly revolved around the heads of these two but then they happened across something. Oh yeah we're talking about primary skills here.

The two knew that primary skills evolved weirdly in many cases. Therefore the Godly understanding that Caesar had of his skill could be explained. And of course, with a Good understanding of his shinobi wannabe, Brian would easily sore through the first test.

The only thing was the second test. They wouldn't know who would win when fighting against each other. Well, guess they would see when the time comes.

Despite the torrent of people coming and going, our two friends actually accurately found the tent that their master had told them to go to. What they forgot, was the millions of people in the line, which also made them wait. Only after countless "Stop pushing in"s and "get to the back of the line"s did they actually find the back of the line.

When it was finally their turn they came up to the desk where a man was sitting behind a couple of contracts.

"Hi, name in the first box, signature on the line. Read through the terms and place your palm here. Thank you." This obviously rehearsed line was what greeted the two who had waited for ages to get to the front of the line.

After signing the contract, Brian and Caesar were directed to the testing grounds. Beside the arenas on which people were tested was a leader board. It read:

No. 1: Daisuke Mei - Brilliant Early stages

No. 2: William Black - Good Late stages

No. 3 Akbar Solem - Good Middle stages

And so on and so forth.

This was the rankings for the first test and so Brian and Ceasar attempted to memorize everything that they could since they knew that it would come in handy later down the line.

"Brian Wolf and Caesar MrDonald, please come to testing ground 4, Ben Jose and David Heng please come to testing ground 5..."

With this, the two friends went to their testing grounds.

When they arrived, they saw a man standing on a raised platform. Jumping onto the platform, they greeted their examiner.

"Hmmm, okay, you first." He said this as he pointed to Brian.

Brian recalled all the shadows that he had been using back out of his fang and gave his hand to the examiner.

"Hmmm... Virtual Class, okay. Hmmm... What is this? Wow, already at the Good Understanding late stages. Congratulations. Okay. Now you."

Seeing as how a mere examiner had the capabilities to instantly discern the Understanding that Brian had of his skill and what class it was, Brian and Caesar were confident that coming to the Academy was a very good idea.

And just the same as Brian, Caesar also went up and gave his hand to the examiner. At a mere touch the examiner pulled away.

"Haha! Genius! It's a genius! Already having a Godly understanding. You are a once in a lifetime genius. And you're only 18. Wow!"

This reaction was so different and sudden from the "Hmm"s that this examiner usually gave out that it had startled all the other examiners that were around. But then they started to process what had just been said.

"What, did he just say Godly?"

"Yes he did."

"Oh my god!"

"And he's only 18"

"Have my babies!"

"You think he will marry you. He's only 18. What are you, 30?"

"You dare insult me."

"Ahhhh!"

"Come back here!"

Conversations broke out around the testing ground. And at this moment, the leaderboards had changed. Now it read:

No.1: Caesar MacDonald - Godly Late stages

No. 2: Daisuke Mei - Brilliant Early stages

No. 3: Brian Wolf - Good Late stages

This update had surprised many, including those high up in this institution.

Sitting within an office overlooking the courtyard where the tests were being held, an old man with dark blue eyes was also startled by this.

"Hey, old man Jones, you seeing this? Where did these proteges come from?" Asked the Dean of Students.

"Haha, I heard that our old friend Xander brought them in." said Principal Peter Jones.

"Hmph! Of course it's that old guy. He is so free. He had better come back soon, or else his side is gonna lose."

"Oh, you worrying about him?"

"No, of course not! It's just that I feel as if we shouldn't really make connections with big powers, which is what he stands for. Unlike that creepy Albus James, who wants to make connections with the superpowers of the world. Of course, it's your choice so I don't know why they're making such a fuss about it."

"Oh no, it's definitely not my choice. I am just one person. I can't go against the whole school, now can I? It seems as if we're getting off topic. Bring the two to my office."

"But what about the tournament stage?"

"Ha, my dear old friend, you think that Xander, that old monster, would let his two precious students' fighting experience be small. They undoubtedly are the strongest within their grade, possibly even better than most who have already graduated from Court 1."

"Hmmm... That is very true. Even I shudder at the amazing teaching methods of Vice-principal Silvio."

"haha! Now, now, hurry up and call them."

"Yes sir!"

---

Within the courtyard.

"Hey look, it's the dean of students."

"Yo, it really is."

"I heard he's only weaker than the principal and the two Vice-principals."

"Yeh, I heard that too."

"What's he doing here."

"He's probably coming for those three geniuses that popped up."

"yeah, that's right."

And just as all these bystanders predicted, the dean of students shouted.

"Could the top five people on the leaderboards, Caesar MacDonald, Daisuke Mei, Brian Wolf, William Black and Akbar Solem please follow me. You are exempt from round two of testing. Now only 95 will be accepted after the tournament. Please resume."

---

-Ha, did you wanna see who's stronger? Well too bad, cause you can't. You mad? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha *Cough* *Cough* *Cough*-
