Following the dean of students, whom they still did not know the name of, the five students arrived at the door of the principal's office. The large oaken double doors appeared very majestic as they had carvings of dragons on them.
Entering the room, they saw a large oak desk with a large oak chair behind it. There was also a wall that was lined with oak bookshelves. Even the floor was made out of oak. Despite the over-usage of this one material, the five students found it quite peaceful.
Sitting upon that oak chair behind that oak desk placed on that oak floor was an old man who had grown his pure white beard all the way down to his waist. He was wearing a flowing robe such as what those wizards in movies from the Days of Depression would wear.
This old man, principal Jones, spoke up after gazing at each of the students individually.
"Welcome, welcome. No need to stand on ceremony. Have a seat. Once again, welcome. I am the principal at the academy, you may have heard of me. My name is Peter Jones, but since you're students, please call me principal Jones.
Now, I would like to discuss something with you. Obviously, you guys are all extremely talented young men. Now, I would like to ask something of you. Don't get me wrong. I am not telling you, I'm asking you. That is very important. Yes, yes. It is all up to you. Nothing shall be forced upon you. It is all up to you..."
Daisuke, the very straightforward man that he is, spoke up and said:
"Could you please just get on with it."
This surprised everyone present in the room. That a student would be this rude to the principal was a first. The principal himself, though, was not fazed. He laughed and said:
"Ok, ok. I will, I will. So, what I would like to ask of you is related to these two."
With that, he pointed to Brian and Caesar.
"Us?" the two spoke in unison.
"Yes, see? That was a good example. You guys are all geniuses that don't appear often. So, I would like you to form a team. But not a half-baked team. I would like you to form the strongest team the world has ever seen. Pardon me, the worlds has ever seen.
To make such a strong team you will need perfect teamwork. And to do so you need a prerequisite, which is to trust each other. What better way to trust each other than to live the other's life? Oh yes, you two, I know your secret. It's quite obvious for those with good eyes. And Xander, your master, developed his primary skill into a secondary one and gave it to me. Sorry, I can't give it to you. The strain on your eyes would be too great. It is only because I also have a body enhancement skill that has been developed to a Godly understanding can I bear it.
Oh, we are getting off topic. Back to the main point. That fang you all see dangling off Mr. Brian Wolf's neck is no ordinary fang. It is a fang of an anomaly. An anomaly is something that occurs when the world created spawns in a new creature that was not designed to be formed. Therefore, it is an anomaly.
These anomalies are all because of a major inbalance in the ecosystem of the world, which in the fang's case, was a massive population of wolves. This made the world balance it forcefully and created a massive monster wolf.
These anomalies rarely take place, but when they do, they are dangerous to the extreme. They devour the souls of all species to constantly evolve and become a super monster. ONly immensely strong people can resist, much less defeat an anomaly. Your parents are really strong, be proud of them. Because they're not here with you, I assume the worst has happened, and through my own sources disappearing,I have an inkling of an idea of who your parents may be and who killed them - sorry, took them away, but I will not tell you. It will only harm you. You're not strong enough yet.
But anyway, changing off this morbid topic, that is why your fang is so powerful. I won't expose the other secret that it has yet, though they're going to find out anyway, but I will tell you that it can share the thoughts and memories of others. Why? Well because the anomaly was made in the first place due to an excess of souls, and since it wants to constantly merge souls, with some external influence, namely me, you can form mental bonds.
As they say, experience is the best teacher. Have a try, and experience the lives of others-"
At this point Brian interrupted.
"Excuse me sir, but there is something I don't understand. You said we need an external influence, but then how come Caesar and I didn't have one, but was still able to form the bond."
"Oh my god, you idiot! I already told you the base anomaly was a massive wolf, so of course Caesar would be influenced. By the way, you other three, that's why he has Godly understanding, no need to be too surprised since he was born with the shape-shifting skill."
"Ahhh, I see. Thanks!"
"Uhh... Excuse me."
This time it was Caesar.
"I have another question. Can I take on the strain of the special eyes that Master Silvio developed, since I have already attained Godly understanding."
"No, my child. I have already told you, I can withstand the strain because I can toughen up my body. But you? You change your whole body structure. If this happens when you have the eyes, you will be stuck in a half-half man-beast, as the eye structure is not easily changed."
"Oh, I see. Thank you!"
Seeing all the other students begin to raise their hands and ask their own questions, Jones hurriedly moved on.
"Now, stop with the questions. I will answer them after, if you don't already find the answer within the other lives. I assume you all consent, right?"
Seeing the bobbing heads, principal Jones was pleased.
"Ok, then let's get started."
And with that, he started creating a stream of energy before injecting it into Brian's jaded fang. Brian, seeing as this was his call, once again pierced the fang into his palm, and blood still dripping, began drawing the symbols.
Without the time to be surprised, the remaining three were flung into each other's respective lives. And drawing the symbol on Caesar's and his own foreheads, they too jumped into the lives of others for the second, third, and fourth time.
