Time really flies! Just a chapter ago it was Friday. Now, it's already Monday, the time for Devon to decide the truth and dare. Aren't y'all curious what he chose? Well, you'll find out real soon!
[18/03/18, Monday]
So as usual, Devon arrived to school minutes after Lyn. Seeing Devon enter the classroom, Lyn scrutinised Devon's face, checking his mood today. As usual, he wore a cold look, ignoring people who tried talking to him. As Lyn and Devon sat at the back row in a secluded spot, no one knew that Devon actually talks to Lyn. They thought both Lyn and Devon are the type that hates talking to people even with their close friends, they don't talk much. What they didn't know was that their attitude depends on the person talking to them. Knowing that Devon was his usual self, Lyn heaved a sigh of relief. Phew! Seems like he had already forgotten about the truth and dare game and how I provoked him to be angry last Friday. Thinking about how she managed to get Devon to carry out the truth and dare without her doing as well made Lyn unable to stop smiling. She was so proud of herself for being able win over Devon however, Lyn's bliss don't last long.
No sooner did she let out an arrogant expression than Devon crushed her dreams.
"Did you actually think I would forget that you still owe me a truth AND dare?" Devon asked as if anyone that was naive enough to think that he would forget such things were idiots.
Lyn gulped. How did he know what I was thinking..?
Still trying her luck, Lyn tried to act dumb
"Huh what are you talking about? What truth what dare?" Lyn asked innocently, showing a confused expression
Devon moved closer to Lyn, staring at her intensely with his cold gaze.
"Are you sure you don't know?" His tone was dangerous, as if hinting that a single lie from Lyn could be her demise. Coupled with his icy dagger-like gaze, Lyn was sweating buckets. Rather than looking at the icy cold daggers in the eye, Lyn would rather do the truth and dare. After all, she was supposed to do it, and it was extremely uncomfortable to look at Devon in the eye when he holds this gaze. It's like looking straight at the sun without sunglasses.
"Fine I admit I was pushing my luck just now. What's my truth and dare?" Lyn mumbled
Hearing her straight forward question made Devon smile for a second before returning to his cold gaze.
"I dare you to slap the first person you make eye contact with, excluding me. As for truth, shoot shag marry your best friend, your mum, your dad"
"Hey that's so mean! How can you force me to slap an innocent person and shoot one of the people that I'm close to?!"
"I learnt that from ya. Well, karma's a bitch. If you didn't make me choose last Friday, I wouldn't do this to you either!" Devon replied smugly
shoot shag marry may be cruel but it's not like I will have to actually do it. But this - slapping a person that makes eye contact with me. Isn't that too cruel?
Seeing Lyn's hesitation, Devon made a negotiation "How about a non-violent dare and in exchange you have to answer another truth?"
"deal!"
Ha, that worked!
"Your new dare will be to shout ' I'M A CRAZY LUNATIC THAT IS IN LOVE WITH GREGGY'S HAIR ' and your additional truth will be to tell me one of your secret that most people don't know."
After deciding for a while, Lyn decided to do the truth first
"For shoot shag marry, I will shoot...my best friend, shag my..father, marry my mom."
"How cruel! Your best friend stood by you through thick and thin yet you wanna shoot your bestie?! Tsk tsk" Devon criticised in a condescending tone, purposely provoking Lyn.
Knowing his intentions, Lyn didn't get mad and simply ignored him, moving on to the other truth question.
"As for a secret,.." Lyn hesitated, not knowing which secret to tell him.
Actually, Lyn did not have many secrets other than the curse but.. it's so weird to tell him that. Yet if she don't, she will need to think of other secrets but she can't think of any at that moment.
ugh what should I-
"Can you hurry up? It's just a secret it's not like it will cost your life or something"
before Lyn could think of the secrets she have, Devon interrupted, irritated that she stopped confessing her truth.
Under such circumstances, Lyn was force to blurt out the only secret she could think of. Little did she know, this actually helps in finding out more about her curse.
"I..I have a curse with boys. Whenever I get too close to a guy, I don't know why but we will somehow grow distant and become strangers.." Lyn bit her lip. She was scared that after sharing this secret, the curse will make them strangers again, leaving Lyn with hurt and confusion yet again..
Upon hearing her secret, Devon stared coldly at her.
"Who are you? Why are you sitting beside me?"
